This is 20 yer strtegy delig with growth, chge d developmet i the Borough. The Regiol Pl (the South Est Pl) hs idetified the former Defece Evlutio d Reserch Agecy (DERA) site t Logcross, for lrge scle mixed use developmet to iclude i the regio of 2,500 ew homes, the detil of which will be delt with t the locl level through Ruymede Borough Coucil s Core Strtegy. The purpose of this cosulttio is to see views o the boudries of this site, which will ultimtely be removed from the etropolit Gree Belt. The former DERA site ws origilly od reserch estblishmet which icluded militry vehicle testig. The site ws decommissioed i 2001 d purchsed by Crest Nicholso d Aviv i joit veture. The site is 129 hectres i re d is divided by the cretig orther d souther site. The site is curretly withi the etropolit Gree Belt d curretly cotis lrge scle idustril storge, lbortory d brrcs buildigs, some of which re i commercil use. I plig for the log term future of the DERA site (respodig to the directio of the South Est Pl), the Coucil eeds to decide how the site will be developed d wht elemets it will coti. I order to do this the Coucil eeds to defie the boudries of the site, cosiderig the most logicl boudries to coti this level of developmet, d the most logicl i terms of removig the site from the Gree Belt. These iclude the Redig to Wterloo Rilwy lie, the orther boudry of Logcross Rod d the ester boudry of Kitsmed Le. The other boudry is the borough boudry betwee Ruymede d Surrey Heth. There is smll portio of the DERA site which is i the Surrey Heth dmiistrtive re. It is expected tht this re will remi i the Gree Belt.
