4 The Clio racing ladder The Michelin Clio Cup Series provides an important rung on the UK Motorsport ladder with both racing classes providing the BTCC experience at club level. The race series uses the third generation Clio Cup race car which was used in the BTCC support package between Aimed at delivering a high standard of racing, the championship has been sponsored by motorsport giant Michelin tyres and assisted by Renault UK since it was first established in The road series features race converted Clio Renault sport 197 and 200 road cars which in 2018 run with Michelin Pilot Sports Cup 2 tyres. This is a cost effective way into a professionally run championship that will give all drivers the experience to progress through their motorsport careers with great success. 4

5 The Michelin Clio Cup Series has a strong history of drivers progressing into the UK Clio Cup and British Touring Car Championship. It s no surprise to find that nine of the 2018 BTCC grid have raced this car on their career ladder to Touring cars. In fact, it s probably the closest car to the current BTCC cars racing in the UK today. James Dorlin 2016 Champion I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the MCCS. Everyone is very friendly and the racing on track is always very close and clean. The cars are brilliant to drive and provide great racing! Now running under management of the BARC and promoted by Westbourne Motorsport, the Clio Cup series enables competitors to experience the fantastic car at club level budgets but still with peace of mind that all cars are identical. 5

6 A Place on the Grid. Registrations for the Michelin Clio Cup Series 2018 season are now open and can be arranged by contacting the championship administrator. 7 Spreading the Word The Michelin Clio Cup have a dedicated team that provide the championship with high quality photography, social media updates, race reports, website and much more. Since the beginning of the 2016 season, Westbourne Motorsport have become the championship promoters and assist BARC with the marketing and advertising to boost the profile of the series. 7

9 Cost effective ultra competitive racing Clio Road - the ideal place to start your racing dreams... For drivers new to motorsport or those on a tighter budget, the Clio Cup Series also offers a road version of the Clio, which can be built using a donor Renault 197 or 200 road car, with a kit of parts supplied in the UK. The base kit of parts can be purchased from 4990 and donor cars are available from 1500 making it one of the lowest entry costs in UK Motorsport. The build process is simple with advice and help available from the teams that run in the championship or you can choose to buy a ready built race car from one of the them. Ready built new cars are available from around 9,000. The road car uses treaded Michelin Pilot Sport tyres as a control tyre and the durability coupled to a strict limited use policy keeps costs to a minimum.
