To the 29 eager crews who lined up at the casino to start the event we thank you for making it all worthwhile. We are recognising your support by offering you a small discount if you compete in We have already lodged with CAMS the regulations for 2007 and hope to have them on the clubs web site by the end of January. February Club Day Entries are open for our February Club Day at Symmons Plains. Supplementary Regulations and Entry Forms are included with this Newswheel. Trophy Presentation BBQ This year it has been decided to present the 2006 Trophies at a BBQ on Saturday 20 th January at 6.30pm for 7pm at 70 Panorama Road Blackstone Heights. The cost is $15 per person (BYO drinks). A friendly reminder, trophies must be collected in person, we will not hold them over after that night Membership Renewal Membership renewal forms are included with this Newswheel. Annual General Meeting and election of Office Bearers The Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday March 6 th We will confirm the location in early January. Please keep the date free. 3 2006 Country Club Tasmania Mountain Circuit Challenge 4 th, 5 th and 6 th November 2006 The weekend started with a compulsory competitors briefing followed by a cocktail party hosted by Country Club Tasmania in the Tasman Room on Friday evening. Everyone got to mingle and check out the competition. On Saturday competitors left the Country Club and made a trek through the countryside to Symmons Plains. One test that had everyone thinking was the Driver/Co-Driver Challenge with drivers having to match the lap time of their co-driver. Sunday started with misty rain but warm until we reached Sheffield. It was so bad that some of us stopped to buy jumpers. Of course later on at Barrington it got too warm and off came the jumpers. After a test at the bottom of Barrington competitors lined up for a median timed test, unfortunately one competitor decided that the corners went straight ahead and landed in the bank just one of those things. Chris Bulk had an engine failure towards the end of the day in his immaculately prepared car. We also had a competitor enter a control twice before it was set-up. Suggestions were that he got terribly lost. A warm day greeted us for the trek to Legerwood where several runs were held on our Hillclimb course. We came back via Scottsdale to the Inveresk precinct where Jason Street proved to be the most spectacular competitor there. 84 Competitors and Officials capped the event off with a Trophy Presentation Dinner at Country Club Tasmania on Monday evening. All outright and class winners received trophies on the night after enjoying a sumptuous meal. Once again thanks to all competitors, we ll be back to run the event next year, we look forward to seeing you there. Of course, without the officials we couldn t have made the event happen.
