4 GREATEST SAFETY Guaranteed reliability under challenging conditions CERTIFIED QUALITY Polygon connection for optimal transmission of forces With the, KLINGER Fluid Control offers a tried and proven double offset high-performance butterfly valve for demanding applications. These include, amongst others, the energy and district heating sector, the oil industry, the chemical industry as well as both the paper and the steel industry. The high reliability of this butterfly valve is based on a wide range of design features. The KLINGER, for example, features a soft seated RTFE sealing element as a standard. This seal is impervious to contamination, thus ensuring that optimal functionality is maintained. The RTFE seal is pre-stressed by a radial spring. As opposed to static seals, this also guarantees contact pressure in the event of temperature fluctuations. Furthermore, a clamp ring surrounds the seal on three sides and keeps it stably in position. The valve can be utilized bidirectionally as a result of pressure-assisted sealing. As a rule, keys or studs are often installed to connect the shaft to the disc. Due to their poor transmission of force properties and the lack of removal options, the latter is associated with specific disadvantages. The KLINGER, on the other hand, is fitted with a polygon connection. Due to its very compact design, this allows for a lossless transmission of forces. Furthermore, the split shaft reduces the flow resistance to a minimum. Thanks to the utilization of the polygon connection, the KLINGER remains removable. This is guaranteed even after longer periods of utilization. The highest level of safety is ensured by a total of two blow-out safety features. As a consequence, the axles and shafts are internally protected against blow-outs, on the other hand the high-performance butterfly valve also features a corresponding blow-out element on the exterior. POLYGON CONNECTION KEY STUD Per default, the KLINGER is fitted with an RTFE sealing element. The utilization of a metal sealing element for special applications is also possible.
