1 Cincinnati Reds (13-27) vs. LOS ANGELES DODGERS (16-23) RHP Luis Castillo (2-4, 6.47) vs. LHP Rich Hill (1-1, 7.11) Sunday, May 13, :10 p.m PT Dodger Stadium Los Angeles, CA Game 40 Home Game 21 (8-12) Day Game 11 (4-6) TV: SNLA/SNLA Spanish Radio: AM 570 (English); KTNQ 1020 AM (Spanish) AVOIDING THE BROOMS: Following last night s 5-3 loss to the Reds, the Dodgers look to avoid being swept by Cincinnati in the series finale this afternoon. Los Angeles, which dropped to 1-4 in its six-game homestand against the Diamondbacks (1-1) and the Reds (0-3), lost its first series against the Redlegs since September 6-8, 2013 and have not been swept by Cincinnati in a four-game matchup since August 5-8, 1976, losing all four games at Dodger Stadium. Following the club s travel day tomorrow, the Boys in Blue will begin a six-game road trip with a couple of three-game series with the Marlins (Tuesday-Thursday) and the Nationals (Friday-Sunday). Despite losing three straight games to the Reds, the Dodgers have won 17 of 23 games against the Redlegs since the start of the 2015 campaign. Los Angeles has also gone 9-3 in its last 12 games at Dodger Stadium against the Reds since August 14, The Boys in Blue swept the season series in 2017, 6-0, which was the first time the club had accomplished such a feat since 2006, when the club also took all six-games. The last time the Dodgers started the season going or worse in its first 39 games of the year was the club s inaugural season in Los Angeles in 1958, going HILL-TOPPER: The Dodgers will send left-hander Rich Hill to the mound today, as he will look to get the club back on track and stop the team s losing skid. Hill last started on May 8 against the Diamondbacks, allowing five runs on seven hits with five strikeouts over 4.0 innings as he did not factor in the decision. On the season, the veteran southpaw has gone 1-1 with a 7.11 ERA (15 ER/19.0 IP) and has struck out 21 batters against nine walks in four starts. In 10 career games (eight starts) against the Reds, Hill has gone 4-2 with a 3.80 ERA (19 ER/45.0 IP) and has limited the opposition to a.188 average. He has also struck out 51 batters against 21 walks against Cincinnati, while posting a 1.13 WHIP. Hill last started against the Redlegs on June 9, 2017, where he allowed just one run on two hits over 5.0 innings as he recorded the win in the Dodgers 7-2 victory. Since joining the Dodgers on August 1, 2016, Hill has pitched well at Dodger Stadium, going 10-7 with a 3.03 ERA (37 ER/110.0 IP) in 20 starts. He has punched out 126 batters against 43 walks in innings and has held hitters to a.203 average, while posting a 1.12 WHIP. HAPPY MOTHER S DAY!: The Dodgers, along with the rest of Major League Baseball, will celebrate Mother s Day today by wearing newly designed caps highlighted by a pink crown and team color brim, while the uniforms will feature a pink ribbon on the left chest. Players will have the opportunity to use pink bats during today s game, while also wearing pink compression sleeves, pink batting gloves, pink cleats, pink wrist/elbow/leg guards and catcher s equipment in honor of Mother s Day and to raise awareness and money for breast cancer research. In addition to the equipment s, each club will have an Honorary Bat Girl in support of the annual Going to Bat Against Breast Cancer initiative, which is traditionally commemorated each Mother s Day. For the first time since the Honorary Bat Girl program s start in 2009, each club had the opportunity to hand-select their respective honorees, each of whom have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to battling breast cancer. The Dodgers Honorary Bat Girl for today s game will be Carla Cammack from Fountain Valley, California. The first 40,000 ticketed fans in attendance will receive the Dodgers Mother s Day Cosmetic Bag presented by Cedars- Sinai. PUNCH EM OUT: The Dodgers 389 strikeouts and 3.11 strikeoutto-walk ratio as a pitching staff ranks second in the National League, trailing only the Nationals 410 punchouts and 3.45 strikeout-to-walk ratio. ON THE MEND: Dodger All-Star third baseman Justin Turner and infielder Logan Forsythe each played in a rehab game last night with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga. Turner finished the game going 0-for-3 with a walk and played seven innings at third base in his first rehab game, while Forsythe went 1-for-4 with a double as the designated hitter in his second rehab contest. Both will play again for the Quakes tonight, as Turner is scheduled to be the DH and Forsythe is expected to start the game at second base. Forsythe was placed on 10-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation on April 15, while Turner was placed on the disabled list on March 26 with a left wrist fracture after being hit by a pitch during a Spring Training game on March 19. Left-handed reliever Tony Cingrani is also on the comeback trail, as the southpaw threw his first bullpen this morning after being placed on the 10-day DL with left shoulder inflammation on May 9.
