The team manager, coach, or designated captain shall be responsible for checking with the home plate umpire before the game to determine what ground rules are in effect. 3. Eight rostered players must be on the field by game time in order to avoid a forfeit. No courtesy or non-roster players may be used. No outs will be taken for an empty spot in the batting order. A drop below eight players any time during the game because of injury, ejection or has to leave the game, will result in a forfeit. 4. A player may be listed on only one team roster at any one time. 5. Shoes with metal spikes or plastic screw in cleats are not allowed. Any player caught wearing illegal shoes must remove them immediately. A warning will be given on the first offense. Ejection will result on the next offense. 6. When in the opinion of the umpire, the base runner perpetrated intentional, unnecessary roughness, the base runner shall be declared out. The ball is dead and all other base runners shall return to the last base achieved. In a double play situation, both runners could be called out. If a fielder blocks the base path or a base without the ball and the runner has to avoid the fielder, the runner will be awarded that base. 7. The manager, coach, or person designated as the field captain by his manager, shall be on the field or in the dugout during every game. If the coach or team captain is in charge, he shall inform the home plate umpire prior to the game. 8. The team manager shall be responsible for the conduct of his team. The person in charge for that game shall handle any questions regarding calls by the umpires. The umpires have the authority to eject from the game any participant who does not follow this rule. 9. Any player or manager who is ejected from a game is suspended from playing the next game played by that team. A player or manager who is ejected for the second time during the season is suspended from playing the next two games. A third ejection will result in suspension for that manager or player for the remainder of the season. Misconduct by participants that result in safety hazards for spectators will also be ejected. 10. Consumption of alcoholic beverages before, during or after the game by players, captain, manager or umpires is not allowed. The use of tobacco in any form is prohibited in the dugout or on the playing field. Profanity is not allowed. 11. Hit your own ball. No super-duper or THUNDER ADVANED balls allowed. 12. A carpet will be used by all umpires to call balls and strikes. Any pitched ball that hits the plate including the black border is a strike. The carpet should be snug up against the plate since both the carpet and the plate are strikes. 13. An official game is 4 innings! All ties will stand and the game is official if the time limits are reached. Games will be rescheduled from the start if cancelled.
9 14. All players must be 16 years of age or older no exceptions. 15. The extra hitter (EH) rule will be used at the discretion of each team. Trophies will be awarded to the regular season champion and the runner up team plus the first and second place tournament teams. If no tournament is played, trophies will be awarded for 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd place finishers from the regular season. 18. Pitchers will have 5 warm-up pitches before the 1 st inning. New pitchers will be given 5 warm-up pitches. A pitcher returning to the mound gets only 2 warm up pitches. Arch on the pitches shall be a minimum of 6 feet and a maximum of 10 feet. No infield ball after the 1 st inning. 19. All batters will come to the plate with a 1 ball and 1 strike count on them. No courtesy foul will be given. A foul ball with 2 strikes is an out. 20. Games will be seven innings. If the score is tied after 7 innings or 55 minutes, additional innings will be played with the batter beginning with a 3-2 count (with no courtesy foul). All games will be played out until a winner is declared. The umpire will notify both team managers. 21. Any eligible player on the line-up including available substitutes may be used as a courtesy runner. A courtesy runner may be used once per inning. If the courtesy runner is on base when they turn at bat takes place, that courtesy runner is OUT! 22. The 15-run rule is in effect after 5 innings. No new innings will start after 55 minutes of play. 23. If your team is unable to play a scheduled game, you need to notify the other team within 48 hours prior to the game, otherwise it is a forfeit. Three forfeits throughout the season is an automatic dismissal from the league. 24. All teams should clean up their respective areas before leaving the park. 25.
