PEAVY ON THE HILL: RHP Jake Peavy (7-6, 3.83) looks to help the Giants stave off elimination...he's posted a 3-0 record with a 2.19 ERA (6er, 24.2ip) over his last four starts... his 14 career wins over the Dodgers are his second most against any club, but he's 0-1 with a 4.34 ERA (9er, 18.2ip) in three starts against them since joining the Giants last season. Was reinstated off the 15-day DL on July 3 and has started 15 games since, going 7-3 with a 3.36 ERA (34er, 91.0ip). Received a no-decision in his last outing in the Giants' 5-4 loss to the Padres...tossed 6.0-scoreless innings, allowing four hits and one walk with four strikeouts. Has won his last four decisions and the Giants have gone 9-4 in his last 13 outings. Has posted a 1.42 ERA (3er, 19.0ip) in his last three starts.
