1 2018 Kimberly Sunset Summer Classic 11U, 12U Year Old Baseball Tournament Rules (Field dimensions: 50 pitching mound, 70 bases) (revised , subject to change) 1. Tournament Rules Standard Little League rules will apply for any rules not described, or not satisfied by this document. 2. Run Limit / Mercy Rule Rule shall be fifteen (15) runs after 3 innings, ten (10) runs after 4 innings, and eight (8) runs after 5 innings. Run limit / Mercy rule shall be in effect for all games. (Championship games excluded) 3. Pitching Rules 11U pitchers may pitch a maximum of (3) innings per game, (6) innings per day, and (9) innings total for the tournament. 1 pitch constitutes an inning pitched. Pitchers are allowed 8 warm up pitches when starting or entering the game and one minute or five pitches between innings thereafter. Once a pitcher is removed he may not return as a pitcher again in that game. Each team is allowed one conference with each pitcher (not one conference per inning). Upon second conference the pitcher shall be replaced. Umpires shall issue ONE balk warning per pitcher before enforcing any balk penalty. 4. Hitting Restrictions Fake bunt and swing away for a hit will not be allowed for safety reasons batter will record an automatic out if used. 5. Bat Restrictions Kimberly baseball will allow the use of all USSSA and 2018 USA approved bats. 6. Time Limit

2 The game start time shall begin with the first warm up pitch. The home plate umpire or base umpire shall monitor the official time, and it is preferred that the time be announced publically to minimize confusion later. All games shall have a 1 hour 30 minute time limit, except the Championship Game. Expiration of the time limit shall be ruled upon at the moment the final out in a half inning is recorded. An inning may be finished, but a new inning cannot be started after the time limit expires. If the home team is ahead when the time limit is reached, the game is over: (a) Immediately after the top half of the inning is finished or (b) At the moment the time limit is reached and the home team is ahead in the bottom half of the inning. Regulation innings are six (6) innings. The Tournament Director reserves the right to modify time limits in the event of weather or scheduling issues. 7. Extra innings and Tie Games If a game is tied after the time limit expires or when the regulation innings have been completed, the following Sunset Tournament tiebreaker will be used. In the first extra inning and every ½ inning thereafter, each team will start with a man on second base and 1 out. The base runner will be the last batted out from the previous inning. Each batter will start with a 1-1 count. The game will continue in this format until a winner determined. If a winner is not determined after three (3) extra innings, the game shall be recorded as a tie (except in a Championship, game play continues in this format until winner is declared). Likewise, if weather or darkness prevents a tie game from being completed, then the game shall be recorded as a tie. 8. Age Limit Eligible players must be of the respective tournament age as of April 30th. Proof of age may be required. Exceptions only prior to 1st game must be approved by Tournament Director. 9. Game Called Due to Weather or Field Conditions: A game will be considered complete if weather, darkness or field conditions prevent the game from being completed: 6-inning game = 3 innings or 2 ½ if home team is leading, will constitute a completed game. If a game is not official as described above, the Tournament Director will either:

3 (a) Suspend the game and arrange to have it resumed where it left off, or (b) Cancel the game such that it does not count toward tournament standings. Should a Championship Game be interrupted by weather, darkness or unplayable field conditions, and is not an official game per the above Rule, then the Championship team will be determined by the score at the end of the last full completed inning. If the score was tied at the end of the last completed inning or if the first inning of the game is not completed, the higher seed shall be named Champion. 10. Scorebook Home team is determined by a coin flip for every game. The home team is the official score keeper for the game and is responsible for any game discrepancies. 11. Rosters Team rosters must be turned in to the tournament director ½ hour before your 1st game at the main concession stand. Line-ups must be turned in to the official scorer 15 minutes prior to the start of each game. 12. Intentional Walk No pitches are required. Notify home plate umpire of intentional walk. 13. Courtesy Runners Courtesy runners should be used for catchers when there are two outs. The runner should be the player who made the last out if the team is batting the entire roster. If the team is not batting the entire roster the runner should be a player not currently in the game. 14. Sliding All runners must slide when a play is being made or attempted on them. The umpire shall call a runner out if they fail to slide or veer out of the base path. (Umpires Discretion) Head first sliding will not be allowed- player will be ruled out except when returning to the base. Metal spikes are not allowed. 15. Lineup Only nine (9) players will bat and a DH (designated hitter) in not allowed. Exception A coach may choose to bat the entire roster. If batting the entire roster, that team is allowed open defensive substitutions. If batting the entire roster, you must inform the

4 opposing coach of your decision prior to the start of the game. That decision must then be adhered to throughout the game. Starting players may re-enter the game after sitting out for three (3) consecutive outs. They must re-enter in the same position in the batting order. 16. Protests There are no protests. The umpires decisions are final. If runners miss touching a base the umpire shall call them out at the end of the play. No appeals are allowed. 17. Ineligible Player If an ineligible player (example age or too many innings pitched) is discovered, his team shall forfeit the game or games in which he participated illegally. 18. Base Running Base runners CAN lead off the base prior to the pitch and run at any time. Thus, pitchers would need to pitch from the stretch and hold runners on base when applicable. Umpires shall issue ONE balk warning per pitcher before enforcing any balk penalty. Dropped third strike rule will be in effect for this tournament. Infield fly rule is in effect for the tournament. 19. Tie Breaker Rule If a tiebreaker is needed to determine playoff teams (wildcards, etc.), the following tiebreakers shall be used: a) Overall Won-Loss record b) Head to Head c) Least number of runs allowed d) Total runs scored e) Coin Flip 20. Awards Trophies will be awarded for 1 st and 2 nd place and metals for 3rd place. Awards will be provided for 13 players. 21. Conduct Unsportsmanlike conduct of any kind by players, coaches or spectators will not be tolerated. Anyone displaying such misconduct may be asked to leave the game and/or the park. We expect you as coaches to closely monitor your players and parents and deal with any situation before it interferes with the game.
