Central is the largest current lead in the Majors, three games clear of the Yankees edge over Baltimore in the A.L. East. FSKC ADDS FINAL TELECAST--The only game on the 2015 slate that wasn t scheduled for some form of television has been picked up by our partners at FOX Sports Kansas City with the announcement that Thursday, August 27 vs. the Baltimore Orioles will be shown...with that addition, FSKC will have 151 games on their schedule this year, while the remaining 11 games will have been shown on FOX, FS 1 or ESPN, a franchise first of having all 162 televised. DAVIS DINGER STREAK HALTED--Relief ace Wade Davis, who worked in his first career All-Star Game with a scoreless inning on July 24, was solved for his first home run as a Royals reliever when Jose Bautista took him deep to open yesterday s eighth inning...it snapped a streak of consecutive innings without allowing a homer since moving into the bullpen role on September 4, he faced 479 hitters before giving up his first relief blast since going to the pen...prior to yesterday, his last dinger allowed was in his last start on August 24, Davis has now allowed three runs in 44.2 innings in 2015 for a miniscule 0.60 ERA...he has 16 wins since the start of 2014, making him the winningest reliever in the Major Leagues over the last two seasons...since the dawn of the 2014 season, Wade has a 16-3 record with 12 rescues and a 0.85 ERA (11 earned runs in innings) and limiting opponents to a.150 average (61-for-407)...since June 27 of last year, Wade has been even better, going 11-1 with 12 saves, a 0.65 ERA (6 ER in 83.0 IP). PEN STILL #1--Despite the Jose Bautista home run off of Wade Davis yesterday, the KC pen still sits atop the Majors with a 2.22 ERA...Kansas City has a 21-6 record out of the pen, easily the best winning pct. in the Majors at.778 and the most wins in the American League. SERIES WORK--If the Royals can win this afternoon they can gain a split of this 4-game visit...kansas City is 6-1 in its last seven series, the lone series loss the one-game stop in St. Louis on July 23...over a longer stretch, KC has gone 8-2 with a split in its last 11 sets contested...on the year, the Royals have gone 21-9 with four splits in the 34 series played. NOT A BAD YEAR S WORTH--Dating back to July 27 of last year, the Royals have played at a 34-game over.500 pace with a mark in their last 162 contests, six more wins than any other American League club in that span and three fewer than the St. Louis Cardinals...today marks the 84th day that Kansas City has either shared or stood alone atop the A.L. Central in 2015 well ahead of the 33 such days during the 2014 campaign. NED A ROYAL RECORD HOLDER--The 16th full-time manager in Royals history, Ned Yost, became the winningest skipper in franchise annals with #411 on June 18 vs. Milwaukee, passing Royals Hall of Famer, Whitey Herzog, who won 410 games from , while Ned is now Yost passed the late Dick Howser for the #2 spot on June 8 in Minnesota...since the All-Star break of 2013, Ned has guided the Royals to the best record in the American League at for a.579 winning pct...also the all-time leader in games managed in Kansas City with 876, this is Ned s second stint as a big league manager after nearly six years at the helm for Milwaukee ( ), compiling a record with the Brew Crew including a mark in his last two seasons...yost s 892 total wins as a big league manager rank sixth among active skippers and 69th all time, only two shy of Toronto s Cito Gaston for 68th, while Ned s 1,837 games managed are tied with Paul Richards for 63rd on the all-time list. vs. Blue Jays (2015) vs. Blue Jays (career) On Road (career) Dickey (career) Verlander (career) Player AVG AB H HR RBI AVG AB H HR RBI AVG AB H HR RBI AVG AB H HR RBI AVG AB H HR RBI Butera Cain Cuthbert Dyson Escobar Hosmer Infante Morales Moustakas Perez Rios Zobrist Starting Pitchers Breakdown Total KC Avg.
