Following this four game series vs. the Rays, the Sox will conclude the 2016 season with three games vs. Minnesota. Chicago needs to win their fi nal six games to fi nish the club has been offi cially eliminated from playoff contention. Todd Frazier has hit safely in a season-high 10 straight games, batting.395/.429/.737 with three home runs and six RBI. Frazier is one home run shy of becoming just the seventh White Sox (12th time) to record a 40-home run season. LAST NIGHT'S RECAP The White Sox snappped a 1-1 tie by scoring six unanswered runs en route to a 7-1 victory over Tampa Bay. Omar Narvaez gave the Sox a 2-1 with a sacrifi ce fl y in the fourth, and Jose Abreu extended the lead to 3-1 with a RBI single in the fi fth Justin Morneau (No. 7) and Carlos Sanchez (No. 3) added two-run home runs in the seventh and eighth. James Shields (1 ER/6.0 IP) earned the win, his fi rst since 7/26 vs. the Cubs Chicago relievers combined to surrender just two hits over 3.0 scoreless IP. Chris Sale is trying to become the fourth White Sox pitcher to win the American League Cy Young Award, joining Jack McDowell (1993), LaMarr Hoyt (1983) and Early Wynn (1959). COMFORTS OF HOME The White Sox are 17-9 over their last 26 games at U.S. Celluar Field they owned a winning record in each of the last two, and three of the last four, mutiple-team homestands. The Sox (41-33) have clinched a winning record at home this season for the fi rst time since 2012 (45-36) the last time the club won 46 or more at home was 2008 (54-28). Chicago's 3.76 home ERA (281 ER/673.0 IP) is the secondlowest in the American League (Houston, 3.33) Jose Quintana ranks third in the AL with a 2.76 home ERA (28 ER/91.1 IP). FINISHING STRONG Jose Abreu needs fi ve home runs and three RBI to join Albert Pujols as the only players in MLB history to record 30-plus homers and 100-plus RBI in each of their fi rst three seasons. He is the fi rst White Sox to hit 25-plus home runs in each of his fi rst three major-league seasons. Abreu has reached base safely in 45 of his last 50 games since 8/2 (was hitting.269), hitting safely in 40 contests (23 multihit).
