LAST NIGHT S recap Chris Sale struck out 14 batters over 7.0 IP, and Carlos Sanchez drove in a career-high four runs as the White Sox posted an 11-4 victory over the Mariners. Sale carried a one-hit shutout into the seventh inning before allowing a three-run homer to Mark Trumbo he struck out 10- plus batters for the 30th time in his career (12th in 2015) and 14 or more for the sixth time this season while upping his season total to a major-league best 222. Carlos Rodon struck out 11 batters over 7.0 scoreless IP on 8/11 vs. the Angels, the most by a Sox rookie since Bere fanned 12 on 9/20/93 vs. California, and 10 on 6/4 at Texas. According to Elias, Rodon became the fifth rookie in club history to strike out 11 during a scoreless outing, joining Frank Lange (1910), Harshman (1954), Peters (1963) and Bere (1993). Rodon recorded his first career complete game in his last start on 8/17 at the Angels, becoming the first Sox rookie left-hander to go the distance since Wilson Alvarez on 9/1/91 vs. Cleveland.
