RAY MATTER Last night s 6-2 loss in the series opener snapped the Rays 4-game winning streak, which tied their season high (fifth time) they allowed as many runs last night as they did during the 4-game winning streak over the Rays last 8 wins they have outscored opponents since the All-Star break, the Rays have outscored their opponents by 50 runs ( ), 3rd in the majors to the Cubs (+69) and Red Sox (+54) Rays had an AL-worst -74 run differential before the All-Star break. Since the All-Star break, the Rays pitching staff owns a 3.01 ERA (284-IP, 95-ER), 2nd in the majors behind the Cubs (2.51) Rays ranked 24th in the first half (4.57) the Rays starters have a 3.00 ERA (192-IP, 64-ER) since the break also 2nd to the Cubs (2.21).
