Chicago went 4-2 on its last homestand, taking two of three games from both Toronto and Minnesota. Following today's series fi nale at Minute Maid Park, the Sox will return to U.S. Cellular Field to conclude the fi rst half with six games vs. the Yankees (7/4-6) and Atlanta (7/8-10). The Sox went 3-4 on their last trip to Cleveland (0-3) and Boston (3-1) from 6/ TODAY'S STORYLINES Chicago is looking to win four consecutive series for the fi rst time since 6/30-7/12/15 (also four) the club is trying to move two games over.500 for the fi rst time since 6/4 (29-27). The Sox are trying to clinch consecutive road series wins for the second time in 2016 (also 4/4-14 at Oakland and Minnesota). Jose Quintana is 0-7 with a 4.58 ERA (30 ER/59.0 IP), 1.29 WHIP, 54 strikeouts, 16 walks and seven home runs allowed over his last nine starts since 5/14 (last win on 5/8 vs. Minnesota). Chicago has hit 21 home runs over its last 11 games (18 solo) each of the club's last 15 homers have been solo shots, tied for the longest streak in club history (also 9/2-25/65). Tim Anderson is hitting.333 (14-42) with three doubles, two homers, fi ve RBI, one walk and seven runs scored over his last nine games (fi ve multihit efforts; hit safely in eight contests). YESTERDAY'S RECAP The White Sox overcame an early two-run defi cit by scoring fi ve runs over the fi nal six innings to earn a 7-6, comeback win. Chris Sale became MLB's fi rst 14-game winning despite allowing fi ve runs (four earned) on six hits with one home run and nine strikeouts over 7.0 IP the fi ve runs allowed matched his most in a win this season he also eclipsed 1,000.0 career IP. The Sox erased an early 4-2 deficit on J.B. Shuck's solo homer (No. 3) in the fourth and Dioner Navarro's two-run single in the fi fth Chicago added two more runs in the eighth. Nate Jones worked a perfect eighth, and David Robertson converted his 22nd save in 24 chances despite allowing a solo home run to A.J. Reed with two outs in the ninth. Navarro also connected on a two-run triple in the second (four RBI total) fi ve White Sox recorded multihit efforts. SALE-ING TO 14 Chris Sale yesterday became the first 14-game winner in MLB, surpassing his win total from last season (13-11) and leaving him just three shy of his career-high 17 in His 14 wins are the fourth-most in White Sox history before the All-Star break, and the most since Wilbur Wood won 16 in the fi rst half in 1974 the last American League pitcher to win 14-plus in the fi rst half was Toronto's David Wells in 2000 (15). He leads the American League with IP and ranks among the league leaders in numerous categories including complete games (T1st, 3), WHIP (T1st, 0.98), strikeouts (2nd, 118), ERA (4th, 2.93), opp. AVG (4th,.214) and opp. OPS (4th,.602). Sale is attempting to join LHP Billy Pierce ( ) as the only White Sox pitchers to make fi ve straight All-Star Teams. HALFWAY HOME The White Sox have played 81 games, marking the halfway point of the 2016 season.
