Chicago owns the fourth-best record in the American League and leads the Indians by 2.5 games in the AL Central. The White Sox opened the homestand by losing two of three games to both Houston and Kansas City. Following this series, the Sox will take a 10-game, 11-day trip to Kansas City, New York-NL and Detroit from 5/26-6/5. TONIGHT'S STORYLINES Chris Sale is looking to become the eighth pitcher since 1900 to win each of his fi rst 10 starts to open a season (source: Elias). Sale is 10-0 with a 1.55 ERA (13 ER/75.1 IP), three CGs, 69 strikeouts and 0.73 WHIP in his last 10 starts since 10/2/15. Tonight marks just the fourth matchup in MLB history between pitchers who are each 6-0 or better (source: Elias). Sale has thrown two straight complete games the last Chicago pitcher to throw three straight was Bartolo Colon (2003). Ten of the Sox last 13 games have been decided by two runs or less, including one-run decisions in three of the last four. Todd Frazier is 6-10 with two homers, two RBI and three walks in his last three games has reached base in nine of 13 PAs. LAST NIGHT'S DOUBLEHEADER RECAP Chicago defeated Cleveland, 7-6, in Game 1 of last night's split doubleheader, while the Indians won the nightcap, 5-1. In Game 2, Erik Johnson surrendered homers to Jose Ramirez (solo), Rajai Davis (two-run) and Juan Uribe (solo) he suffered the loss (5 ER/6.2 IP) and was optioned following the game. In Game 1, David Robertson induced a groundout by Carlos Santana with the tying run at second base to end the game. Brett Lawrie extended the White Sox lead to 6-3 with a threerun homer in the fi fth, and Austin Jackson added a bases-loaded walk in the seventh Todd Frazier hit his 14th homer in the first. Mat Latos (3 ER/6.0 IP) improved to 6-1 on the season. Frazier reached base in six of his nine PAs in the DH. PERFECT SALE-ING WEATHER Chris Sale is looking to become just the eighth pitcher in the modern era to win each of his fi rst 10 starts of a season, and the fi rst since Andy Hawkins in 1985 (10) see box at right. Sale's current 10-game winning streak since 10/2/15 is tied for the fourth-longest in franchise history. Below is additional information on Sale's start (Elias/STATS): The only Sox to win 10 consecutive starts are Eddie Cicotte (12; 1919), LaMarr Hoyt (11; ), Ed Walsh (11; 1906), Sale (10; ), Richard Dotson (10; 1983), Jon Garland (10; ) and Roy Patterson (10; ). His three complete games are the most by a White Sox starter in his first nine starts of a season since Jack McDowell in 1991 (also three). Is one of just three pitchers since 1913 (Eddie Cicotte and Sal Maglie) to win his fi rst nine starts with an ERA of 1.58 or lower. His.163 opponents average is the second-lowest through nine starts in Sox history, trailing his.152 mark in ON THE UNBEATEN PATH Tonight's matchup between Chris Sale (9-0) and Josh Tomlin (6-0) is just the fourth in major-league history featuring pitchers who are both 6-0 or better (source: Elias). STRONG EARLY RETURNS The White Sox own the fourth-best record in the American League, and are tied with Boston for the most wins in the league. Below is additional information about the club's 2016 start: The White Sox are off to their best 46-game start since 2006 (31-15). Chicago has led the division for 31 straight days (since 4/23). The Sox have spent 43 days in fi rst place (11 total from ). Chicago has recorded four sweeps this season (fi ve total in 2015). The White Sox are on pace to fi nish with a record. THE TODDFATHER Todd Frazier is (.352) with seven home runs, 16 RBI, 10 walks and a OPS over his last 15 games he has homered in six of the contests and recorded a RBI in eight. Frazier ranks among the American League May leaders in homers (T2nd, 7), AB/HR ratio (5th, 10.43) and RBI (T6th, 17). Frazier leads the AL lead and is tied for second in MLB with 14 homers in 2016 Yoenis Cespedes leads MLB with 15. WHITE SOX VS. David Robertson has made 15 scoreless appearances in his last 17 overall vs. the Indians (3 ER/16.2 IP; 22 SO; 5-5 SV). TWO SMOKIN' ACES Jose Quintana and Chris Sale are a combined 14-3 with a 1.76 ERA (25 ER/127.2 IP) and 114 strikeouts in 18 starts this season Chicago is 15-3 in their outings overall this season. By contrast, the White Sox are in their other 28 games. Sale leads the AL with a 1.58 ERA and Quintana ranks second with a 1.98 mark the last set of teammates to lead their league in ERA were Roger Clemens and Andy Pettitte in 2005 (STATS). DIVISION DYNAMICS The Sox are 9-4 vs. the American League Central this season after going in 2015, including a mark at home.
