1 LOS ANGELES DODGERS (90-67) at San Diego Padres (67-90) RHP José De León (2-0, 5.52) vs. RHP Luis Perdomo (8-10, 5.59) Wednesday, Sept. 28, :10 p.m. PT Petco Park San Diego, CA Game 158 Road Game 77 (37-39) Night Game 116 (62-53) TV: SNLA/SNLA Spanish Radio: AM 570 (Eng.)/KTNQ 1020 AM (Span.)/AM 1540 (Kor.) #FOURPEAT: The Dodgers, winners of five of their last six games, have just five games remaining in the 2016 regular season and continue their final road trip of the season with the second of three games in San Diego following yesterday s 7-1 loss. Following the Padres series, Los Angeles will close out the regular season with three games against the Giants this weekend at AT&T Park. TINSEL TITLETOWN: The Dodgers clinched the 2016 National League West Division Championship with Sunday s victory, their fourth straight and 15th overall NL West title, as the club reached the postseason in four consecutive seasons for the first time in franchise history. The Dodgers are the first team in NL West history to win the division in four consecutive seasons. The last MLB team to win four straight division titles was the Detroit Tigers ( , AL Central) and the last NL club to do so was the Phillies, who won the NL East in five consecutive seasons from Dave Roberts joins Tommy Lasorda (1977) as the only rookie managers ever to lead the Los Angeles Dodgers to a division title. In his first year as manager, Roberts has used a franchise record-tying 55 total players and 31 different pitchers (both records originally set last year) on a club that saw 28 different players spend time on the DL, the most for any team in the last 30 years since at least The Dodgers have reached 90 wins for the fourth consecutive season, a feat that had only previously been accomplished once in franchise history, (6). Since trailing the Giants by a season-high 8.0 games on June 26, the Dodgers have gone (.613), the third-best record in the Majors behind the Cubs (53-30) and Red Sox (51-31). The Dodgers will open postseason play next Friday, Oct. 7 against Washington and are 2.0 games behind the Nationals for the NL s second-best record/nlds homefield advantage. Clayton Kershaw will start Game 1 of the NLDS and be followed by Rich Hill and Kenta Maeda in the postseason rotation. FINISHING STRONG: The Dodgers have the National League s best September record at 16-8 (.667), behind only the Red Sox (18-6,.750) for the Majors top mark, and top the Majors with a 2.64 ERA (63 ER/214.2 IP) this month. Josh Reddick ranks fourth in the Majors with a.393 September batting average, going 24-for-61 with a.431 onbase percentage (8 th, NL) nine runs, five doubles, two homers and eight RBI in 19 games. Joc Pederson has the third-highest OPS in the Majors this month at 1.135, also ranking fourth in OBP (.469) and tying for sixth in slugging percentage (.667). Pederson has gone 14- for-64 (.292) with 15 walks (T-7 th NL), six homers (T-7 th NL) and 10 RBI in 21 September games. CALL HIM ROY: Corey Seager went 1-for-5 last night and is just nine hits away from becoming the first Dodger since Adrian Beltre (2004, 200) to reach the 200-hit milestone in a single season. He would be just the second rookie in franchise history to do so, along with Johnny Frederick in 1929 (206 H). Seager s 191 hits are the most by any bigleague rookie since 2001, when Albert Pujols had 194 hits and Ichiro Suzuki knocked 242. Seager already holds the Los Angeles rookie record for hits (191), runs (103) and doubles (40) in a single season, currently has the highest OBP of any LA rookie (.370) and also remains in the mix for the top mark in batting average (.312, behind Piazza:.318, 1993). Seager ranks among the NL leaders in hits (3 rd ), runs (T-4 th ), doubles (T-4 th ), total bases (319, 4 th ), batting average (6 th ), extra-base hits (71, 6 th ) and slugging pct. (.520, 10 th ). According to Stats, LLC, if Seager remains in the NL s Top 10 in batting average and slugging percentage, he d be just the fourth rookie in the divisional era (since 1969) to accomplish the feat, joining Dusty Baker (1972, ATL), Mike Piazza (1993, LA) and Albert Pujols (2001, STL). Scully will conclude his Hall of Fame career this weekend and call the Dodgers final three regular-season games at AT&T Park, Sept. 30-Oct. 2. Scully s call of Sunday s season finale will be simulcast in its entirety on television - SportsNet LA, KTLA - and on AM 570 LA Sports radio. HILLTOPPERS: The Dodgers recorded 10 strikeouts last night to extend their MLB all-time, single-season record to 1,469 strikeouts (previous high: 2014 Indians, 1,450 SO). In addition to strikeouts, Dodger pitchers rank among the Major League leaders in ERA (3.65, 4 th ), opponents batting average (.230, 2 nd ), WHIP (1.17, 2 nd ) and shutouts (15, T-1 st ), while the club s relievers continue to lead the Majors in ERA (3.25, 206 ER/569.2 IP). José De León will make his fourth big league start tonight against the Padres, last pitching 10 days ago, when he allowed six runs (four earned) in 3.2 innings in a no-decision at Arizona. De León picked up the win against San Diego in his MLB debut on Sept. 4, allowing four runs (three earned) in 6.0 innings in a 7-4 Dodger win. The Dodgers 30 wins by rookies this season are the most for the club in a single season since 1952, when it set a franchise record with 51 wins by rookie pitchers (Source: Elias Sports Bureau). LA rookies have combined to go with a 3.61 ERA (168 ER/419.0 IP) in 109 games (67 starts) this year. OCTOBER BASEBALL: Limited single-game postseason tickets are on sale now for potential home games for the National League Division Series and NL Championship Series and can be purchased online at Dodgers.com/postseason. THANK YOU FANS!: The Dodgers led Major League Baseball in attendance for the fourth consecutive season, finishing with 3,703,312 (45,720 average) and eight sellouts on the season. It s the eighth-highest single-season attendance in Los Angeles history and the 15th highest in National League history. SUNDAY FUNDAY: Limited space is still available to participate in Sunday s New Balance Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation 5K & 10K Run and Kids Fun Run, presented by Gazillion Bubbles. The action starts and finishes at Dodger Stadium, and includes a cool-down run around the warning track and guest appearances from Dodger Legends. For more information and to register, please visit Dodgers.com/run. A LOOK BACK: On this date in 1988, Orel Hershiser pitched 10.0 scoreless innings at San Diego to set a MLB record with 59.0 consecutive scoreless innings. Hershiser surpassed the previous mark of 58.2 innings set in 1968 by Don Drysdale, who returned to the Dodgers in 1988 as a broadcaster and was in the dugout to congratulate Hershiser when he broke the record. Because Hershiser received a no-decision in the 16-inning game, Drysdale held onto his MLB record of six consecutive shutouts.
