RHP Miguel Gonzalez is scheduled to start this afternoon for the White Sox, who are in fourth place in the American League Central, a 0.5 game behind the third-place Tigers. Chicago has won two of the fi rst three games on the homestand, including a split in yesterday's straight doubleheader. The Sox went 3-7 on their last trip at the Los Angeles Angels (0-3), Seattle (3-1) and Arizona (0-3). Following today's fi nale vs. the Tigers, Chicago will fi nish the homestand with three games vs. Boston from 5/ TODAY'S STORYLINES The White Sox own the fi fth-best run differential in the American League (+23) despite being tied for the third-worst record. Five of Chicago's last 10 losses have been by one run, and eight by three runs or less. Sox starters have allowed three runs or less in 10 of the last 12 home games, and in 15 home games overall in Miguel González is 0-5 with a 6.99 ERA (22 ER/28.1 IP),.336 opp. average and a 1.87 WHIP over his last fi ve starts. YESTERDAY'S DOUBLEHEADER RECAP Chicago and Detroit split a doubleheader, with the White Sox earning a 3-0 win in Game 1, and the Tigers holding on for a 4-3 victory in the second game. In the opener, Tyler Danish earned his fi rst MLB win after allowing just three hits with six walks in 5.0 scoreless IP four Sox relievers combined to allow one hit over 4.0 scoreless IP. Chicago added to its lead by scoring twice in the eighth on Leury García's RBI triple and José Abreu's RBI single Adam Engel made his MLB debut as a pinch runner in the eighth. In Game 2, Justin Wilson struck out Todd Frazier and Engel to end the game with the tying run on third base. The Sox cut their defi cit to one run in the ninth on Tim Anderson's RBI single and Yolmer Sánchez's two-run triple. Derek Holland fell to 4-4 despite allowing just one run on seven hits with four walks and eight strikeouts in 6.0 IP. Engel recorded his fi rst hit with a single in the eighth. DYNAMITE DANISH Tyler Danish earned his fi rst MLB win in Game 1 yesterday vs. Detroit he became the fi rst Sox pitcher to earn a win in his fi rst career start since Carlos Rodon on 5/9/15-2 vs. Cincinnati. IT WAS THE BEST OF TIMES RHP Miguel González is currently on a career-long, fi vegame losing streak over his last fi ve starts he has allowed fewer than fi ve runs just once during that span. Robert is currently rated by as the third-best prospect in the White Sox system behind Moncada and Kopech.
