The White Sox are in second place in the American League Central, 2.0 games behind Kansas City the Sox this season have spent 47 days in first place, nine in second and two in third. Following today's game at Citi Field and an off day tomorrow, Chicago will conclude the trip with three games at Detroit (6/3-5). The White Sox went 3-7 on the last homestand vs. Houston (1-2), Kansas City (1-2) and Cleveland (1-3). The Sox-Royals game on 5/27 was postponed due to rain and will be made up on 9/19 at 1:15 p.m. CT. TODAY'S STORYLINES Chicago is looking to win its first series since 5/6-8 vs. Minnesota, and first road series since 4/25-27 at Toronto. The White Sox have hit 11 home runs in the last 10 games after connecting on just eight in the previous 12 contests. Sixteen of the Sox last 19 games have been decided by two run/s or less, including one-run decisions in seven of the last 11. White Sox starters are 0-2 with a 2.97 ERA (12 ER/36.1) and 35 strikeouts over the last six games (four quality starts) starters have allowed three earned runs or less in all six outings. The Sox are (.536) on the road this season, the fifth-best mark in the American League by contrast, the Sox did not win their 16th road game last season until 7/1 at St. Louis (16-27). Todd Frazier is tied for the major-league lead with 16 home runs his nine road homers are tied for second in baseball. LAST NIGHT'S RECAP Tyler Saladino connected on a game-winning, two-run home run in the eighth inning, and David Robertson worked a ninth to lead the White Sox to a 6-4, comeback win over the Mets. The win snapped Chicago's seven-game losing streak. The Sox trailed 4-0 after five but scored three in the sixth, highlighted by Todd Frazier's two-run homer they added three in the eighth on Saladino's homer and Brett Lawrie's RBI single. White Sox relievers combined to allow just four hits over 4.0 scoreless IP starter Mat Latos (2 ER/5.0 IP) received a ND. Chicago's four-run deficit tied the largest it has overcome this season (also four on 4/25 at Toronto). OUT GOES FRAZIER Todd Frazier last night connected on his 16th home run of the season his 16 homers are tied with Colorado's Nolan Arenado for the most in the major leagues. Frazier joined Jim Thome (20 in 2006), Frank Thomas (20 in 1994) and Adam Dunn (16 in 2012) as the only White Sox to hit 16-plus home runs before the start of June (source: Elias). He is on pace to hit 49 home runs, which would tie Albert Belle (1998) for the Sox single-season record. LEFT-SIDE PRIDE 3B Todd Frazier, SS Tyler Saladino and LF Melky Cabrera combined to go 5-11 with two home runs, four RBI, three walks and four runs scored in last night's win over the Mets. Cabrera is tied for fifth in the American League with 20 multihit efforts this season Frazier has hit 11 home runs with 24 RBI over his last 30 games. Saladino is (.372) with two doubles, two home runs, 10 RBI, three walks, eight runs scored and a.975 OPS over his last 12 starts since 5/6 (six multhit efforts). MAY DAY The White Sox went in May despite outscoring their opponents, the Sox allowed five runs or more 13 times, and left 205 runners on base during the month.
