Nashville starter Paul Blackburn (7.0 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 6 K) earned his 3rd victory of the year, with Tucker Healy (1.0 IP, H, K) & Simon Castro (1.0 IP, K) joining forces for the final 2.0 innings of 1-hit ball to preserve the shutout. Omaha righty Josh Staumont (5.0 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 7 BB, 6 K) suffered the loss to fall to 3-4 on the year. Sounds 1B Matt Olson (2-3, 2B, RBI) recorded a multi-hit effort & was joined by Chasers CF Billy Burns (2-3) as the only players to achieve that feat last night. Omaha also swiped 3 bases in the contest, while Chasers pitchers yielded a season-high 10 walks. Nashville pitchers also held Omaha batters to zero extrabase hits in the contest. HEY, BUBBA! After posting a.129 average (8-62) in 19 April contests, OF Bubba Starling owns a.304 clip (21-69) in his 22 May matchups, adding 9 runs, 4 doubles, 1 HR & 7 RBI. He has tallied knocks in 16 of his 22 tilts this month after accruing a hit in just 6 of his 19 games in April. Included in that period is a 12-game hit streak between 5/9-21. HARSH SOUNDS Nashville recorded their 8th consecutive victory over the Chasers dating back to the 2016 season. Only 2 of those 8 contests have had a final margin of 3 runs or less in that time frame.
