Wild Card leaders, Tampa Bay and Texas, who enter today with identical marks. RUBBER GAME #16--Today s game will be the fourth rubber game between KC and the Tigers this year, with KC taking 2 of the previous 3...the Royals earned series-deciding wins at The K on June 12 with a 3-2 come-from-behind win in 10 innings as well as a 5-2 triumph a week ago today in KC...Detroit s 6-3 win here on August 18 clinched the expanded 5-game series for the Tigers...this is the Royals 16th rubber game of the season, with Kansas City posting a 9-6 record to this point, including 5-5 on the road. ANOTHER CLOSE CALL--Last night was Kansas City s 51st one-run decision, with the Royals posting a ledger, the second highest total in the American League behind only the White Sox (53)...the Tigers have been a huge contributor to KC s one-run work this year as last night s victory was the ninth single-run decision between these clubs, with KC going 7-2 in those affairs.
