TOMORROW IN YANKEES HISTORY June 27, 1936: In a 10-6 win at St. Louis, the Yankees hit six home runs off Browns starter Tommy Thomas. The six homers off one pitcher sets a club record and ties a modern Major League record that still stands today (eight occurrences). June 27, 1978: Graig Nettles hits a two-run walk-off HR in the 14th to give the Yankees a 6-4 win over the Red Sox. June 28, 2003: The Yankees sweep a doubleheader against the Mets, winning Game 1 at Yankee Stadium, 7-1, and taking the nightcap, 9-8, at Shea Stadium.
