CROSSTOWN SHOWDOWN: Tonight, the Dodgers will begin a twogame set against their crosstown rivals, the Angels, in the annual Freeway Series driven by Lexus in the final series of their nine-game homestand (7-0). Los Angeles recorded its eighth series sweep of the season and their thirdconsecutive sweep following a 12-6 comeback victory over the Rockies yesterday. The club, which improved their National League best record to (.662), also extended their season-high winning streak to 10 straight games for the first time since August 7-17, 2013 and have been victorious in 16 of their last 17 contests since June 7. Following the two-game set against the Halos, the Boys in Blue will head down the I-5 to continue their series with the Angels in Anaheim (2) and will follow that by heading further south to San Diego for three games. Los Angeles recorded its 21 st comeback victory yesterday, roaring back from a 5-0 deficit to keep its winning streak alive. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the club is just the second team over the last 15 seasons to extend a winning streak to 10 games or longer by erasing a deficit of five or more runs since the Padres won 9-7 at Arizona in The Dodgers were able to erase the deficit by scoring five runs on wild pitches, becoming the first team in big league history to do so since at least The Dodgers became the first National League team to reach a 10-game winning streak this season and tied the Texas Rangers (10 games, May 9-19) for the second longest streak in the big leagues, trailing only the Houston Astros 11-game run (May 25- June 5). During the streak, the Dodgers own a +51 run differential, which according to Stats LLC., is the club s largest in any 10-game span since moving to Los Angeles in The club s last 11-game winning streak was from July 28-August 8, The Dodgers have won 11 consecutive games at Dodger Stadium, their most since recording 13 straight victories at home to open the 2009 season (April 13-May 6). The club is (.762) at home this season, which is the best mark in the Major Leagues. The club is (.796) in its last 54 games at the Ravine since Sept. 3, 2016, which is the best home record in the Majors during that span. The Dodgers lost the 2016 series against the Angels, 1-3, but have fared well against their SoCal rivals at home, winning eight of their last 12 games against the Halos at Dodger Stadium since Los Angeles has gone 2-1 in Interleague play this season and finished against the American League each of the last two seasons. In 23 games during the month of June, the Dodgers own the best record in the Major Leagues at 18-5 (.783). The Dodgers +138 run differential is the best in the Major Leagues, 19 runs better than the Houston Astros (+119). THE SLUG CLUB: Kiké Hernández two-run blast in the third inning yesterday gave the Dodgers home runs in 17 consecutive games since June 7, which is tied for the longest homer streak in L.A. Dodger history (May 29-June 16, 1960). The current 17-game streak is tied for the second longest in franchise history, still far away from the Dodger franchise record of 24 consecutive games with a home run (June 18-July 10, 1953). Hernández recorded his career-high eighth home run of the season yesterday and his fourth homer during the month of June. 26 of his 37 hits this season are extra-base hits, collecting 17 doubles, a triple and eight long balls. The Dodgers, who rank fourth in the NL in home runs (106), trailing the Nationals (117), Mets (114) and Brewers (110), have hit 41 homers in their last 17 games since June 7. Los Angeles is averaging 2.35 home runs per game during that span, which is easily pacing the Majors: MLB, Most Home Runs per Game Since 06/07/2017 Los Angeles Dodgers 2.41 (41/17) New York Yankees 1.89 Texas Rangers 1.88 St. Louis Cardinals 1.83 Tampa Bay Rays 1.83 Source: Stats LLC Los Angeles is averaging 1.64 home runs per game at home this year (69 HR/42 G), which is currently the highest in Dodger Stadium history.
