The Sox opened the trip on Monday with a 4-1 victory over the Twins in their home opener Chicago went 1-1 on its last homestand after opening the season by winning three of four games at Oakland. Following this three-game series, the White Sox conclude the trip with three games in Tampa Bay (4/15-17) before returning to Chicago for a seven-game homestand vs. the Angels (4/18-21) and Texas (4/22-24). The Sox have just one off day in April (4/12) they play 17 of their fi rst 27 games on the road and 33 of their fi rst 42 outside the AL Central division. TODAY'S STORYLINES The White Sox are off to their best seven-game start since 2012 and are looking for their fi rst 6-2 start since The Sox are 4-1 on the road for the fi rst time since 2005 and are attempting to record their best six-game start away from home since 1991 (6-0). Chicago is three games over.500 for the fi rst time since the end of the 2012 season (85-77). Carlos Rodon is 5-3 with a 1.90 ERA (13 ER/61.2 IP) and 55 strikeouts over his last nine starts dating back to 8/11/15 his 1.90 ERA during that span ranks fourth in the major leagues. The Sox bullpen owns a 1.47 ERA (3 ER/18.1 IP). MONDAY'S RECAP Jose Quintana combined with four relievers on a six-hitter as the White Sox defeated Minnesota, 4-1. Quintana allowed one run on four hits over 6.0 IP to improve to 4-0 with a 2.53 ERA (18 ER/64.0 IP) over his last 10 starts. Matt Albers threw 1.0 IP to extend his scoreless streak to 27.1 consecutive IP over his last 24 outings dating back to 8/5/15 Zach Duke (0.1 IP) and Nate Jones (0.2) posted holds, and David Robertson pitched a ninth for his third save in as many tries. Austin Jackson hit a two-run single in the fourth inning, Todd Frazier went 2-4 with a double, RBI and run scored, and Brett Lawrie was 2-4 with a RBI and run scored. ROAD REVIVAL The White Sox are 4-1 on the road after starting 2-12 in 2015, 2-6 in 2014 and 0-5 in 2013 they did not win their fourth road game last season until 5/13 at Milwaukee (16th game) and their fi fth on 5/15 at Oakland (17th game). The Sox rank second in the American League with a 2.25 ERA (11 ER/44.0 IP) and have allowed four runs or less in each of their fi ve games (two combined in last two). NO REST FOR THE WEARY The White Sox begin a stretch tonight of playing 19 straight games until their next scheduled day off on 5/2. Chicago has just one scheduled off day in April, tied with Arizona for the fewest in the major leagues by comparison, the Mets have a major-league high six scheduled off days in April, followed by Kansas City with fi ve. PROGRAMMING NOTES The White Sox game on Friday at Tampa Bay (6:10 p.m. CT), originally scheduled to air on CSN, has been switched to CSN+ to accomodate the Blackhawks playoff game. Chicago's game on 5/5 vs. Boston has been switched from CSN to CSN+ as a result, both games of the doubleheader on 5/23 vs. Cleveland will be televised by CSN. QUALITY IN QUANTITY The White Sox have made 1,162 quality starts since the start of the 2003 season, the second-highest total in the major leagues behind the Mets (1,168). The Sox are tied for second in the American League with fi ve quality starts this season after leading the AL with 98 in 2015, their highest total since 2003 (also 98). Jose Quintana (2nd, 26) and Chris Sale (T3rd, 25) rank among the AL leaders in quality starts since PITCHING PROWESS The White Sox lead the American League with a 2.76 ERA and.217 (50-230) opponents average and are tied for second with fi ve quality starts. The Sox have allowed three runs or less in fi ve of the seven games the bullpen has gone 1-0 with a 1.47 ERA (3 ER/18.1 IP), 19 strikeouts and a.159 (10-63) opponents average. WHITE SOX VS. MINNESOTA The White Sox lead the season series, 1-0, after going 6-13 in 2015 (2-8 at Target Field). The Sox are in the last 15 season matchups and have lost nine of their last 12 games at Target Field. Chicago batted.256 with a 4.91 ERA last season and was outscored by the Twins, Minnesota scored 10 or more runs three times and held the White Sox to three runs or less 13 times (four shutouts). The White Sox trail the all-time series, they are at home ( at U.S. Cellular Field) and on the road (28-30 at Target Field). SOX ON TARGET Several members of the White Sox own career averages of.300 or better lifetime at Target Field. Jose Abreu owns a.317 (26-82) average in 20 games Adam Eaton is a.338 (25-74) hitter in 18 games Austin Jackson is hitting.333 (26-78) with fi ve doubles, one triple, three homers and 10 RBI in his last 18 games. Brett Lawrie is a.368 (21-57) hitter with two home runs and 13 RBI in 15 games Jimmy Rollins has hit safely in his last eight games (.378, 14-37). ALBERS ON A ROLL Matt Albers has thrown 27.1 consecutive scoreless IP over his last 24 appearances dating back to 8/5/15, both the longest active streaks in the major leagues. During his career-best streak, Albers has gone 1-0 with nine holds, 21 hits allowed, fi ve walks and 21 strikeouts. LEADOFF MAN Adam Eaton is hitting.417 (10-24) in 2016 and became the first White Sox player since Nellie Fox in 1955 to open the season with four consecutive multihit games. He has reached base safely in 27 of his last 28 games dating back to 9/9/15, hitting.377 (43-114) with a.450 on-base percentage and a.958 OPS. CENTRAL STRUGGLES The White Sox have gone (.439) vs. the American League Central since 2009, with their only winning record coming in 2012 (37-35). The Sox are 2-1 vs. the AL Central this season after going in 2015, including a mark on the road. ABREU IN ELITE COMPANY Jose Abreu ( ) and Albert Pujols ( ) are the only players in major-league history to record 30-plus home runs and 100-plus RBI in each of his fi rst two seasons. Abreu batted.290 with 30 homers and 101 RBI last season after hitting.317 with 36 and 107 as a rookie in Pujols accomplished the feat in each of his fi rst 10 seasons before the streak ended in HONORING EDDIE The White Sox mourn the loss of sports broadcasting legend and long-time club executive Eddie Einhorn, who passed away on 2/23/16 from complications involving a stroke. Einhorn, who was 80 years old, served as vice chairman of the White Sox for 25 years and was the team s president and chief operating offi cer from The Sox will honor Einhorn by wearing an Eddie patch on their uniform sleeve during the 2016 regular season.
