1 Dear Valued Community Member, The Kellis Baseball Booster Club is gearing up for another exciting season of high school baseball. The purpose of the booster club is to support the Kellis Cougar Baseball program by raising funds to assist in covering the expenses needed to run a high school baseball program. Our booster club is a non-profit organization that has received an exemption under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. This means that 100% of your sponsorship or donations is tax deductible! We would like to invite you and your business to join our growing tradition by becoming an official Kellis Baseball sponsor. We feel that encouraging local businesses to show their support of education and athletics through advertisement or donations will help foster an increasing sense of community pride and ownership. As you may know, maintaining and improving baseball facilities and equipment is a year-round effort that takes hard work, time, and most importantly, funding. As you will see on the next pages, the advertising packages and events provide several, affordable avenues for you and your business to show your support for Kellis High School Baseball. The funds that are raised through sponsorships will help assist our baseball program and overall baseball operations for the up-coming year. 2 Kellis Cougar Baseball Wish List Along with raising money for various yearly necessities like uniforms, baseballs, bats, catcher s equipment, winter rye seed, pre-game meals, meal money for long road trips, end of the year banquet and much more, the booster club is currently raising money for the following major projects: 1. Scoreboard Cost: approximately $30,000 Why this is needed: Players, coaches, fans, and opposing fans have complained about the current scoreboard. The scoreboard is small, approximately 430 feet from home plate, and is angled to where it directly faces the setting sun. Almost all of the games are played at 4pm which when you combine all of the previously mentioned factors makes the scoreboard practically unreadable. The new scoreboard would be larger, placed closer to home plate (about 70 feet), and located where the setting sun would not affect the visibility. 2. Bleachers for the Varsity Baseball Field Cost: approximately $14,000 Why this is needed: The capacity for our current bleachers is for 100 spectators. Several times we have had games where it has been standing room only due to the lack of available seats. At times, we have had to borrow bleachers from neighboring schools to accommodate larger crowds. The purchase of these new bleachers will add 184 new seats to our baseball complex. This will help us provide a better experience for not only spectators but the athletes on the field.
