Last night s winner Jon Lester pitched in the All-Star Game while tonight s starting pitcher, Jake Arrieta, was a member of the team but did not pitch. THIS IS STRIKING: Cubs starting pitcher Jake Arrieta has gone 26-5 with a 1.90 ERA (51 ER/242.0 IP) in 36 starts since the beginning of last August he leads the majors in wins, is second in ERA (Clayton Kershaw, 1.68) and has allowed the lowest slugging percentage against of any pitcher in this span at.248 (Kershaw is next closest with a.257 slugging percentage against).
