CONGRATS POLIE--Brian Poldberg, manager of the defending Pacific Coast League and Triple-A National Champion Omaha Storm Chasers has been tabbed the manager of the Pacific Coast League All-Start team for the First National Bank 2015 Triple-A All-Star Game which will take place at Werner Park, home of the Storm Chasers, on Wednesday, July 15 at 7:05 p.m. CST on MLB Network as well as the Triple-A All-Star Game Radio Network...Poldberg is in his second season as the manager of the Storm Chasers, after leading the club to their second-consecutive league title and Triple-A Championship in he is the sixth manager since 1998 to win a PCL championship in his first season in the league...the native of Carter Lake, Iowa, is closing in on 1,000 wins in his 15-year managerial career, having entered 2015 with 951 victories...polie will be the third Omaha skipper to manage a Triple-A All-Star Game, and the first since Mike Jirschele in GETTING IT DONE AT HOME--Kansas City s.656 winning percentage at Kauffman Stadium tops the American League charts, as the club has gone here while playing fewer home games than any of the clubs ahead in total home wins...the Royals have gone 8-2 with a split in their first 11 home sets of the year, while posting a 5-4 mark with two splits away from The K...KC will head out on a 9-game journey through the A.L. West starting Monday in Seattle, followed by three in both Oakland and Houston, but then return home to a season long 11-game pre-all-star Game homestand featuring visits from the Twins (4), Rays (4) and Jays (3). NICE IMPROVEMENT--The Royals are well ahead of where they were a season ago after 63 games, but still wound up playing for all the marbles in the Fall Classic... at 38-25, Kansas City stands at 13 games above.500 compared to a ledger at this stage in 2014 and in third place in the Central, 4.0 games removed from the top spot...since July 22 of last year, when KC turned its season around, the Royals possess a record for a.622 winning pct. to lead all of baseball in that span, a couple of percentage points ahead of cross-state rival St. Louis, who has a.612 mark (79-50). NIGHT MOVES--Kansas City will continue to work under the lights tonight and tomorrow and then the first four games of the upcoming road trip...the Royals have a ledger under the lights this year, a.628 winning pct., which is the best in the Majors. ST. LOUIS MAKE-UP DATE SET--The rainout of last Sunday afternoon in St. Louis will be made up on Thursday, July 23, while the Royals are in the middle of a 6-game homestand...first pitch is slated for 6:15 in Busch Stadium, as Kansas City will fly across the state after its regularly scheduled July 22 night game against the Pirates in Kauffman Stadium and then return home to resume the stay with a 3-game visit from the Houston Astros...KC also has a pair of make-up dates slated for Chicago later this year, with an April 25 contest lost to Mother Nature against the White Sox (make-up slated for a split doubleheader on July 17) and a May 30 encounter on the North Side vs. the Cubs (make-up slated for September 28). AND DIAMOND OF DREAMS MAKE-UP TOO--Due to the previously mentioned make-up game the Royals have to play in St. Louis on July 23, the club had to reschedule its annual on-field fundraiser known as Diamond of Dreams, initially slated for that date...that event will now take place on Monday, August 31 at 7:00 p.m. on the field at Kauffman Stadium...Diamond of Dreams will feature appearances from current and former Royals, the Teva Silent Auction, an opportunity to win a Rolex watch, courtesy of TIVOL, and a spectacular fireworks show...tickets can be purchased online at royals.com/diamondofdreams for $125 each. FOUR NOT NECESSARY FOR A CHANGE--The Royals scored 28 runs in the 4-game series with Milwaukee, but could only muster three last night, but still proved to be enough for the one-run win...kc has been pretty reliable in the win column when the offense scores at least four going 31-4 this season which reaching that mark and (.886 winning pct.) over the past three seasons...conversely, the club is now 7-20 this year and over the last two years when scoring three runs or fewer. STILL SECOND IN DIFFERENTIAL--The Toronto Blue Jays have blown past the Royals for the American League lead in run differential, however Kansas City still remains second in the Junior Circuit, having outscored its opposition by 62 runs this year (Toronto is +83)...KC s +62 ( ) also ranks second in the Major Leagues behind the Cardinals (+67)...last season, the Royals outscored their opponents by 27 runs, en route to a record. ROYALS A HIT IN BIG LEAGUE BALLOTING--If the All-Star Game were today, American League manager Ned Yost will have some familiar names to pen into the lineup as the Royals would have eight starters based on the voting that was announced on Monday...catcher Salvador Perez leads all vote getters with over 7.2 million votes, while Eric Hosmer and Kendrys Morales continue to lead at first base and designated hitter, respectively...mike Moustakas, Alcides Escobar, Lorenzo Cain, Alex Gordon and Omar Infante are also leading at their respective positions, while Mike Trout is second in outfield voting...the voting for the American League All-Star team is on-line and runs through the end of this month. vs. Red Sox (2014) vs. Red Sox (career) At Home (career) Rodriguez (career) Porcello (career) Player AVG AB H HR RBI AVG AB H HR RBI AVG AB H HR RBI AVG AB H HR RBI AVG AB H HR RBI Butera Cain Colon Dyson Escobar Gordon Hosmer Infante Morales Moustakas Perez Rios Starting Pitchers Breakdown Total KC Avg.
