New Orleans was swept in a four-game series at Chukchansi Park in 2017, and has dropped 16 of the last 20 meetings over the last five seasons. The Baby Cakes will play 17 of their next 21 games at the Shrine, where they own the PCL s third-best home record (17-11). LAST TIME OUT Down to their final strike, Scott Van Slyke drilled a two-run homer to catapult the Baby Cakes to a 6-5 victory over the Salt Lake Bees. Salt Lake scored in the first and third innings to jump out to a 3-0 lead before the Cakes chipped away, scoring in each of the final four innings. Austin Nola drew a bases loaded walk in the sixth to get the Baby Cakes on the board, and a wild pitch in the seventh drew New Orleans within a run. Chris Diaz tied the game in the eighth with a squeeze bunt, and Magneuris Sierra s sacrifice fly gave the Cakes their first advantage. Salt Lake rallied with a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame to regain the lead, and Jake Jewell retired the first two batters in the ninth before he walked Isaac Galloway, and Van Slyke s fourth dinger of the year vaulted NOLA in front. Tyler Kinley pitched a perfect ninth to earn the save, and Javy Guerra was credited with the win after starter Tyler Cloyd allowed three runs and six hits in 3.0 innings.
