The SeaWolves took two of three from the Baysox at home last week...this is the second of three series the Baysox have against Erie over the first 5 weeks of the season...the Baysox currently sit at 4-7 tied for fourth place in the division with Erie at The SeaWolves handed the Baysox their worst loss of this young season with a 10-2 win 4/12...Yesterday, the Baysox beat Erie 5-1, the Baysox did not trail all game...erie starter Cory Riordan, who beat Bowie earlier this season, allowed 10 hits on five runs in 5.0IP...Bowie put the game out of contention in the top of the fifth inning on a three-run home run off the bat of Quincy Latimore...Baysox starter Jason arcia picked up his first win of the season, throwing five innings and allowing a single run. The Bowie bullpen pitched four scoreless innings, Jason Stoffel picked up his second save of the season... Starting Pitchers: LHP Jayson Aquino makes his second start of the season against the Erie SeaWolves...In his first start in the Orioles organization he pitched five innings, allowed seven hits, four runs and struck out four batters...aquino was acquired from the St. Louis Cardinals just before the start of the 2016 season for cash...he is currently a member of the Orioles 40-man roster...aquino has jumped around between a number of organizations since being designated for assignment by Colorado (the team that signed him in 2010) in January He was then traded to the Blue Jays. The Jays designated Aquino in May and traded him to the Pirates (also for cash), who subsequently flipped him to the Indians on July 31 (once again, for cash considerations)...upon being designated by the Indians this offseason, Aquino was claimed by the Cardinals...In 2015 he pitched with Dunedin, Bradenton and Lynchburg (All High-A teams)...he went a combined 5-11 with a 3.80 ERA, 86 strikeouts, 30 walks over 24 starts and innings...entering the 2016 season, had made just two starts at the AA level with Tulsa in 2014 (0-0, 3.00ERA)... RHP Myles Jaye makes his third start of the season...in his last start 4/14, he threw 3.0 innings and allowed five runs on eight hits while walking two and striking out one in a 12-2 loss vs. Binghamton...Originally selected by the Blue Jays in the 17th round of the 2010 First Year Player Draft out of Starrs Mill High School in Fayetteville, a...the 24-year old spent the 2015 season with Birmingham in the Southern League prior to being acquired by Detroit via trade...he went 12-9 with a 3.29 ERA, 104 strikeouts, four walks over 26 games (26 starts)... Where is Rosa Today?: 11 games in the Baysox 2016 season, arabez Rosa has already started at five different positions - 3B, SS, 2B, CF, RF...Rosa is in his fourth full season with the Baysox and has made a habit of moving around the diamond on defense...in 2015, Rosa started games at 1st base, 2nd base, shortstop, 3rd base and 35 games in the outfield...all the movement on defense has not affected Rosa at the plate where he has been red hot over the past week...over his last five games, he has recorded 11 RBI and is batting 13-for-25 (.520)...That includes a four-hit, five-rbi game Saturday at Akron...Rosa is picking up right where he left off during Spring Training, where he impressed the Orioles by hitting.571 (12-21) with eight RBI while appearing in 16 Major League games...rosa s 11 RBI are currently tied for second in the Eastern League... one Streaking: After a slow start at the plate for the team, there are now several Baysox hitters who are currently on significant hitting streaks...chance Sisco currently has the longest active hitting streak on the team and the longest on the year with hitting safely in now (7) consecutive games...arabez Rosa hitting streak stands at 6 - since 4/12 Rosa has seen his average jump from.125 to.378 with 11 RBI over that span...playing primary DH is no easy task, but Corban Joseph has found a way to make it work at the plate in recent games, and has now hit safely in 5 straight contests... Infielders Drew Dosch and Adrian Marin have both extended their hitting streaks to 4 games in a row... This streak for Marin is his second four game streak of the year, he has only not hit safely in one game he has played in this year... In Stoffel We Trust: Since joining the Baysox in August 2015 after a trade from Houston, Jason Stoffel has been a force out of the Baysox bullpen...in four Double-A appearances so far this season, he has yet to allow a run while recording a two saves and his Baysox scoreless streak dates back 14 games to August 25, 2015, including four playoff appearances... Stoffel was a key piece of the Baysox bullpen as the team won the Eastern League Championship in 2015, appearing in a team-high four games and throwing 6.1 scoreless innings and striking out 10...This is Stoffel s second trip through the Eastern League as he spent most of the 2011 season with the Richmond Flying Squirrels... All He Does is Hit: Baysox 1B Trey Mancini is off to another terrific start after winning the Eastern League Batting title in He opened the season on a six-game hitting streak and has hit safely in eight of 10 games so far this year... However, he is not just hitting for average as his five home runs are tied for the league lead and his 13 runs scored and 32 total bases are currently the best in the league TEAM LEADERS Statistic Name Total Statistic Name Total Home Runs Trey Mancini 5 ERA Joe unkel 3.38 RBI arabez Rosa 11 Wins Chris Lee 2 Batting Avg. arabez Rosa.378 Strikeouts Ashur Tolliver 11 Runs Trey Mancini 13 Saves Jason Stoffel 2 UPCOMIN BAYSOX SCHEDULE AND PROBABLE PITCHIN MATCH UPS Date Time Opponent Pitchers Wednesday, Apr :05 p.m. at Erie SeaWolves RHP Joe unkel (0-2, 3.38) vs. RHP Tommy Collier (0-2, 20.25) Thursday, Apr. 21 6:35 p.m. vs. Harrisburg Senators RHP David Hess (0-1, 3.60) vs. RHP Reynaldo Lopez (0-2, 4.09) Friday, Apr. 22 7:05 p.m. vs. Harrisburg Senators RHP Parker Bridwell (0-0, 6.48) vs. RHP Lucas iolito (0-1, 1.17) Saturday, Apr. 23 6:35 p.m. vs. Harrisburg Senators LHP Chris Lee (2-0, 3.65) vs. RHP Austen Williams (0-2, 10.57)
