Long Island reached the 7 million fan mark faster than any other team in league history despite having begun play in the ALPB s third year of existence (2000). The crowd of 7,186 on June 10 was the first pastcapacity crowd of the season and league-record 664th sold out crowd all-time. The Ducks have led the league in attendance 14 times in their first 17 seasons. Ducks vs. Skeeters: Tonight marks the seventh meeting of the season as well as the 106th all-time meeting between the Ducks and Skeeters. The Ducks lead the all-time series 53-52, while the Skeeters have a advantage at Constellation Field. Long Island leads the 2017 season series four games to two and has taken the first three games against Sugar Land in Texas. Fonzie s On Fire: Giovanny Alfonzo collected an RBI single on Sunday night. The infielder has now hit safely in eight consecutive games, earning multiple hits in three of them. During the streak, he is batting.367 (11-for-30) with three doubles, five RBI and three runs. His current streak is tied for the longest hitting streak by a Duck this year. Multi-Hit Madness: Fehlandt Lentini earned his fourth three-hit game of the year on Sunday. He is now tied with Angelo Songco, Dan Lyons and Elmer Reyes for the team-lead in three contests. The outfielder has collected multiple hits in back-to-back games and in three of his past six games. Alex Burg picked up a pair of hits, good for his 10th two-hit game of The catcher has now reached base safely in nine straight games and is batting.303 (10-for-33) during the streak. Road Warrior: Matt Larkins continued his strong pitching on the road this year with seven innings of one-run ball on Sunday. In seven games (six starts) away from home, he has compiled a 2.97 ERA while striking out 28 batters and walking just seven in 36 and one-third innings. In his six road starts, his ERA is even better at Comparatively, Larkins has a 6.91 ERA and opponents are batting.325 against him in six home starts this year. Sing Us a Song(co): Angelo Songco drew another walk on Sunday night. The outfielder has now reached base safely in 13 of his past 14 games dating back to June 11, earning at least one hit in nine of them. He is batting.314 (16-for-51) with two doubles, a triple, four homers, 11 RBI, eight runs and five walks in that span. The Glue Guy: Elmer Reyes collected another hit in Saturday s win. The infielder has hit safely in 10 of his past 11 games and has reached base safely in 12 of his past 13 games. Ducks starter Matt Larkins and Skeeters starter Brett Marshall engaged in an entertaining pitcher s duel throughout, though both did not factor into the decision. Larkins pitched seven innings of one-run ball for Long Island, allowing just four hits and two walks while striking out six batters. He retired 12 consecutive batters at one point from the third through the seventh inning. Marshall lasted six innings, yielding a run on three hits and two walks with four strikeouts. Long Island opened the scoring in the first inning when Fehlandt Lentini tripled down the left field line and came home on an RBI groundout in to short from Lew Ford. Larkins worked out of a first-and-second, no-out jam in the first but surrendered a run in the third on Travis Scott s two-out RBI double to right-center. Both teams would exchange scoreless frames until the top of the ninth when the Ducks rallied for three runs against Skeeters reliever Evan Reed. An RBI single from Jordan Pacheco gave the Flock the lead, and two-out RBI base hits from Giovanny Alfonzo and Lentini extended the advantage to 4-1. Zac Treece (5-1) collected the win after striking out Bryan Pounds to strand the go -ahead run at second base in the eighth. Reed (1-1) took the loss, surrendering three runs on five hits with a strikeout in one inning of work.
