Game 1: Indians RHP Brad Lincoln (6-2, 3.27 ERA) vs. Bulls RHP Richard De Los Santos (10-5, 3.78 ERA) Game 2: Indians LHP Brian Burres (3-4, 4.65 ERA) vs. Bulls RHP Virgil Vasquez (6-1, 4.02 ERA) TONIGHT S GAME 1 TRIBE STARTER: Tonight s game one probable starting pitcher for Indianapolis, Brad Lincoln, will make his second start since being promoted to Pittsburgh on June 9, where he made nine starts for the Pirates and posted a 1-4 record and a 6.57 ERA (37 ER on 64 hits in 50.2 IP) before being optioned back to Indianapolis on July In his first start after being optioned, Lincoln allowed three earned runs on four hits, while striking out six and walking just one over a six inning no-decision against the Syracuse Chiefs on July In his most recent start for the Pirates, a July 25 outing against the San Diego Padres, Lincoln allowed six runs on eight hits in 6.1 innings of work and was strapped with his fourth loss of the season... During his time with the Pirates, Lincoln allowed five or more runs in an outing on six different occasions, but logged at least six innings in seven of his nine starts... Lincoln s lone Major League victory came on June 30 in his best start with the Pirates, as the right-hander held the Chicago Cubs scoreless over seven innings of work, while striking out six batters and allowing only four hits... Prior to his promotion to Pittsburgh, Lincoln had posted a 4-1 record and a 2.03 ERA, while striking out 37 batters and allowing only 25 hits in six starts from May 5 to June 3... Lincoln last faced the Durham Bulls on August 2, 2009 where he allowed two runs on six hits over a four inning no-decision. TONIGHT S GAME 1 OPPOSING STARTER: Set to oppose Lincoln in tonight s contest is Bulls starter Richard De Los Santos, who has won each of his last three starts during which time he has posted a 0.95 ERA (2 ER in 19 IP), allowing 17 hits and just three walks, while striking out 14 over 19 innings of work... De Los Santos last faced the Indians on June 23 at Victory Field where he did not figure in the final decision despite allowing three runs on five hits and three walks over just 2.2 innings of work. TONIGHT S GAME 2 TRIBE STARTER: Tonight s game two probable starting pitcher for Indianapolis, Brian Burres, who face-off against the Bulls for the second time this season in this evenings contest... Over his last three starts, the Tribe left hander has pitched well posting a 1-0 record and 3.79 ERA (8 ER in 19.0 IP) with 10 strikeouts and nine walks over 19 innings of work... Burres has also seen improvement since the calendar flipped to July as after posting a 1-2 record and 5.61 ERA (16 ER in 25.2 IP) over five starts in the month of June, he has turned in a 2-2 record and 3.96 ERA (16 ER in 36.1 IP) in the month of July... Overall, this season Burres has excelled when he gets ahead of opposing batters as he has held them to a.077 batting average (6-for-78) with just one RBI when he is ahead in the count, while on the flip slide having allowed a.286 average (18-for-63) with 16 runs and 15 RBI when he is behind in the count... Burres last faced the Bulls on June 23 this season and did not figure in the final decision after allowing four runs on five hits, while striking out six and walking just one over 5.2 innings of work. TONIGHT S GAME 2 OPPOSING STARTER: Set to oppose Burres in tonight s contest is Bulls starter Virgil Vasquez, who last season posted a 7-4 record and 3.93 ERA (47 ER in IP) in 19 starts with Indianapolis... This season after allowing a season high six runs to the Columbus Clippers on July 21, Vasquez has turned in back-to-back dominant outings, earning victories over Syracuse and Pawtucket... In those two victories, the Bulls right hander allowed just one earned run over 12.1 innings (0.73 ERA), surrendering just 10 hits, while striking out five... Overall, Vasquez has posted excellent numbers in the month of July as he has turned in a 4-1 record and 3.28 ERA (13 ER in 35.2 IP), while striking out 23 and walking just 10 over six starts in the seasons fourth month... Vasquez last faced off against the Tribe on August 1, 2008 as a member of the Toledo Mud Hens and earned the victory after holding the Tribe to just two hits over seven scoreless frames of work. MOSS ON FIRE: After driving in a run with a first inning double against Norfolk on August 3 Tribe OF Brandon Moss improved his team-best RBI total to 77, which ranks as the second-highest tally in the International League this season... The Indians left-handed slugger has recently moved past both Toledo Mud Hens INF Jeff Frazier and Norfolk Tides INF Robert Andino - who have collected 68 RBI and 66 RBI, respectively and trails only Durham Bulls INF Dan Johnson s astounding total of 95 RBI... Since Moss recent hot streak began on July 6, during which time he has reached base safely via a hit or a walk in 23 of 25 contests, the Georgia native ranks third in all of professional baseball with 34 RBI, behind only Triple-A Iowa Cubs OF Brad Snyder s 38 RBI and Single-A High Desert Mavericks OF Johermyn Chavez s 37 RBI... The Indians outfielder has also been one of the most consistent contributors for the Tribe offense this season, and, among current players, he leads the team in games played (104), at-bats (383), runs scored (59), hits (104), doubles (25), home runs (19), RBI (77) and total bases (188). ADD MARTINEZ TO THE MIX: RHP Joe Martinez, who was acquired from the San Francisco Giants organization along with OF John Bowker for Pittsburgh Pirates left-handed reliever Javier Lopez, tossed three scoreless innings of relief to earn the save in the Tribe s 5-3 victory over Norfolk on August 3 in what was his first action in an Indians uniform this season. The right hander posted a 5-3 record and a 3.32 ERA (30 ER), while allowing 78 hits and 26 walks to go along with 65 strikeouts in 81.1 IP over 14 games (13 starts) for Triple-A Fresno earlier this season. TAKE A BOW-KER: OF John Bowker, who was acquired from the San Francisco Giants organization along with RHP Joe Martinez for left-handed reliever Javier Lopez, drove in a run and collected a game high three base knocks, including two doubles in his first game with the Indians on August 3 in Norfolk... The left handed slugger batted.310 (61-for-197) with 36 runs scored, 12 doubles, 14 home runs, 36 RBI and a.388 on-base percentage in 51 games for Triple-A Fresno earlier this season. MORE FRESH FACES: Along with adding INF/OF John Bowker and RHP Joe Martinez, the Indians also added long-time Minor League veteran OF Mitch Jones and INF Pedro Ciriaco to their roster prior to the July 31st MLB trade deadline... Jones, who played in 1,069 Minor League contests and hit 235 long balls heading into this season, began the 2010 campaign with the Gwinnett Braves and batted.250 (81-for-324) with 18 home runs and 45 RBI in 89 games... Last season with Triple-A Albuquerque, Jones posted monster numbers as he hit.297 with 35 home runs and 103 RBI in 108 games with the Isotopes... Also added to the Indians roster was Ciriaco, who was acquired by the Pirates organization along with C Chris Snyder from the Arizona Diamondbacks organization for INF Bobby Crosby, OF Ryan Church and RHP D.J. Carrasco... Before coming to the Tribe this season, Ciriaco played in 87 games for Triple-A Reno, where he turned in a.259 average (92-for-355) with 44 runs scored, 15 doubles, seven triples, six home runs, 51 RBI and 14 stolen bases... The speedster entered the 2010 season as the Arizona organization s top base stealer the last two seasons (40 in 2008 and 38 in 2009) and also rated by Baseball America as being Arizona s Best Defensive Infielder prior to the 2009 campaign.
