Last night s effort was Chicago s 12th shutout of the season, second most in the majors and trailing only the Dodgers (13). Rizzo s first inning two run homer last evening marked his 17th game winning RBI this season, tied for the most in the majors with Nolan Arenado. IN AWE OF AUGUST: The Cubs are 21 6 in August, good for a.778 winning percentage the Cubs best August in franchise history occurred in 1932 when the club went 22 6 (.786).
