Riley Jr. Park, 4-1 and 8-1. Savannah has won six straight and 17 of their last 20 games. The Gnats (24-17/63-48) took the lead with two runs in the third and never looked back, after falling behind 1-0 in the first. SS Luis Guillorme, RF Wuilmer Becerra, all 3B Eudor Garcia all drove in runs in game one of the doubleheader. The RiverDogs (15-27/49-63) scored first in both games with single runs in the first inning. The R Dogs failed to get anything else going offensively and fall for the sixth straight time against the Sand Gnats. Sand Gnats starters RHP Martires Arias (6-5) and RHP Chris Flexen (1-0) each allowed just one run on the night. Arias tossed 5.0 innings with four strikeouts and LHP Alberto Baldonado came into earn the two-inning save, his fifth this season. Flexen made his 2015 debut tossing 6.0 innings with five strikeouts. Savannah plated three runs in each of the final two innings of game two to pile on the Dogs. DH JC Rodriguez and LF Vicente Lupo hit RBI-doubles in the seventh to put the nail in the coffin, 8-1. SAND GNATS STARTER: RHP Josh Prevost will make his eighth start of the season tonight after being placed on the DL since 5/22. Before going on the DL, Prevost strung three consecutive outings together and concluded with a 7.0 complete game in game one of a doubleheader at Rome. The New Jersey native tossed 8.0 innings in his previous start against Lexington to earn his first win. Prevost turned his season around in a start at Hickory where he tossed 6.0 innings and allowed just one run. SWINGIN AT ARIAS: RHP Martires Arias allowed just three hits and one run last night in game one of the doubleheader. Arias earned his sixth victory and struck out four in his 5.0 innings of work. His four K s last night were enough to put him back on top of the SAL league with 98. STRAIGHT FLEXEN: RHP Chris Flexen tossed 6.0 innings and allowed just one run on six hits in his 2015 Gnats debut. Flexen K d five and walked two before exiting the game after throwing 85 pitches. SMOOTH CRIMINAL: CF Patrick Biondi swiped second base four times last night, twice in each game. Biondi leads the team with 28 stolen bases this season and ranks 9 th in the SAL. SAVE-ANNAH: LHP Alberto Baldondao picked up his 5 th save of the year in game one last night giving the gnats 37 of the season. Savannah leads the SAL in saves. RIVERDOG DAYS OFF SUMMER: The Gnats lead the RiverDogs 11 games to 8 in the season-series. Wuilmer Becerra leads the Gnats with a.348 (23-for-66) batting average with two homers and ten RBI against Charleston. Tomas Nido holds a.340 (17-for-50) batting average with a homer a six RBI in his 14 games. Game one starter Martires Arias is 4-0 with a 1.59 ERA vs. Charleston this season.
