The Cubs previously won consecutive 1-0 games against the Pirates 112 years ago, turning the trick in a twinbill on July 4, 1906 in Pittsburgh this instance marks the first time the Cubs have won consecutive 1-0 games with both runs scoring on solo homers. STATS, Inc., reports that the Cubs are the fourth team in MLB history to have consecutive 1-0 games in which they won each with a solo homer they join the Tigers in 1960, the Angels in 1964 and the Giants earlier this season.
