D.J. Snelten (1-1, 3.00) is slated to make the start on the mound for the Giants tonight. Winning Ways Despite last night s loss, the Giants have still won four out of their last five games. Yesterday s defeat to Visalia snapped San Jose s season-high four-game winning streak. Road Warriors Yesterday began a stretch for the Giants playing 24 out of 29 games on the road. The current road trip continues with a four-game series in Stockton beginning on Monday. San Jose has a season-high 14-game road trip from May The Giants are 3-5 on the road this year. LAST GAME April R H E San Jose Visalia x WP: Ramirez (5-0) LP: Morel (0-1) S: Sherfy (6) The Giants were unable to hold a four-run lead Friday night as Visalia rallied for a 7-5 series-opening victory over San Jose at Recreation Park. After the Giants built a 5-1 advantage, the Rawhide tied the game with a four-run bottom of the sixth before Rudy Flores hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the eighth. Chris Shaw (3-for-3, 2 2B, HR, 4 RBI) doubled twice, homered and drove in four of the five San Jose runs to lead the offensive attack in defeat. C.J Hinojosa (3-for-3, 2B, RBI) also collected three hits. The rest of the Giants lineup was a combined 1-for-26. Jose Morel, who allowed the game-deciding home run, suffered the loss out of the San Jose bullpen. Shaw s Hitting Streak At Six Games First baseman Chris Shaw brings a six-game hitting streak into tonight s action. During the streak, Shaw is batting at a.500 clip (12-for-24) with five doubles, three home runs and seven RBI s. Shaw is currently sixth in the California League with a.354 batting average. Earlier this season, Shaw hit safely in nine straight games (April 12-21) the longest hit streak by a Giants player this year. Shaw s nine doubles this season lead the league. He s also fourth in the league with a.606 slugging percentage. Rec Park Woes The Giants are 2-16 in their last 18 regular season games at Recreation Park dating back to June of Last night was the first of 13 games for San Jose this season in Visalia. The Giants did defeat the Rawhide in the decisive Game 5 of the North Division Series at Recreation Park last September (6-5 in 11 innings).
