NOAH NOTES: Noah Syndergaard was named the National League Player of the Week for the week of May Syndergaard is just the fourth major leaguer to have consecutive starts without allowing an earned run or a walk and record double-digit strikeouts (May 17 vs. Washington & May 22 vs. Milwaukee)...The others are Nolan Ryan (1987), Jose Fernandez (2014) and Clayton Kershaw (2015-who had three such starts)... The only other Met to have consecutive double-digit strikeout games without a walk was Dwight Gooden (September 12 & 17, 1984)...Syndergaard has 76 strikeouts through his first nine starts, are the third-most in team history...only Tom Seaver had more through his first nine starts (88 in 1970 and 77 in 1971)... Seaver holds the mark for most strikeouts after 10 starts (98 in 1970). RANKINGS: Syndergaard is fourth in the majors with a 1.94 ERA and is tied for sixth in the majors with 76 strikeouts...he is third in the major with 1.3 walks per nine innings and third in the majors with 11.3 strikeouts per nine innings.
