Lost last night's second-half opener 14-2, the Rockies largest loss of the season the 14 runs and 19 hits allowed were the most the Rockies have allowed on the road this season. After this series, the Rockies will return home for a six-game homestand against the San Diego Padres (three games) and the Pittsburgh Pirates (three games). FIRST HALF FUN The Rockies finished the first half of the season with a record, the best record prior to the All-Star break in franchise history. Rockies pitchers finished the first half with a 4.45 ERA (812.1 IP, 402 ER), the sixth-lowest first-half ERA in franchise history, the lowest since 2013 and the eighth-lowest in the National League Rockies starters went with a 4.49 ERA (519.1 IP, 259 ER), the seventh-lowest in the NL the innings pitched by Rockies starters are fourth-most in the league Rockies relievers went 12-9 with 30 saves in 38 opportunities and a 4.39 ERA (293.0 IP, 143 ER) Rockies relievers recorded a 2.63 strikeout to walk ratio (302 strikeouts, 115 walks) ranks fifth in the NL. Rockies batters hit.270 (842-for-3,122) with 461 runs, 150 doubles, 21 triples, 104 home runs, 259 walks and 799 strikeouts they rank second in the NL in hits, second in batting average and third in runs. HITS AREN'T FREE Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland took a no-hit bid through 8.1 innings in the last game prior to the All-Star break against the Chicago White Sox allowed a hit to Melky Cabrera with one out in the ninth inning. The 8.1 no-hit innings were the most by any Rockies pitcher in Denver and the second-most by any pitcher in Denver behind Hideo Nomo's no-hitter at Coors Field on Sept. 17, The 8.1 no-hit innings were the second-most by a Rockies pitcher in any ballpark behind Ubaldo Jimenez' no-hitter on April 17, 2010 at Atlanta, the only no-hitter in Rockies history. He's the third Rockies pitcher to toss at least eight innings and allow one or fewer hits (Jimenez and Tyler Chatwood, June 6, 2016 at Los Angeles-NL). DJ LeMahieu was selected to his second career All-Star Game (also, 2015) but did not play due to a right groin injury. FLUSHING MEADOWS The Rockies face the New York Mets for the first time this season will play the Mets in three games at Coors Field Aug. 1-3 overall, are vs. the Mets in franchise history, in Queens. Four Rockies rookies (Kyle Freeland, Jeff Hoffman, German Márquez and Antonio Senzatela) have started 56 of 91 games, going with a 4.24 ERA ( IP, 154 ER). FLYING DUTCHMAN Greg Holland s 28 saves are the most in Major League Baseball and the franchise history prior to the All-Star break. DERBY DAY Charlie Blackmon currently leads the Major Leagues in hits (119) and triples (10) and ranks fourth in runs (73) he ranks fifth in the National League in batting average (.321), fifth in slugging percentage (.585) and third in extra-base hits (48) his 20 home runs while batting first in the lineup are the second-most in MLB (Springer, 27) and the most in the National League by eight (Conforto, 12). He joins Jim Rice (1977, 1978) as the only hitters in MLB history to hit at least 20 home runs, 10 doubles and 10 triples prior to the All-Star break. Acquired: From Los Angeles-AL, Nov. 30, 2011 CHAT ABOUT THAT The 27-year-old Redlands, Calif., native will be making his 19th start of the season, his 11th on the road marked his fourth career and second consecutive Opening Day roster after missing all of 2015 due to recovery from Tommy John surgery. Is with a 4.07 ERA (464.0 IP, 210 ER) in 88 games, 81 starts, with Colorado since LAST TIME OUT Was handed his 10th loss of the season, his third in a row on July 6 vs. Cincinnati at Coors Field pitched six innings and allowed three runs on eight hits with four walks and four strikeouts in the 6-3 Rockies loss.
