MORE THAN A FEELING: The Dodgers continue their 10-day, ninegame homestand today with the second of three games against the Red Sox following last night s 9-0 defeat. The clubs last met in 2013, when the Red Sox took two of three games at Dodger Stadium, and Boston holds an 8-5 advantage in the all-time series. Los Angeles still trails the Giants by 2.0 games in the divisional race, and continues to lead the NL Wild Card chase, 2.0 games ahead of the St. Louis Cardinals and Miami Marlins. Following the Boston series, the Phillies and Pirates come to Dodger Stadium for three games apiece. The Dodgers have the third-best home record in the National League at (.611), behind only the Cubs (.685) and Nationals (32-20,.615). After opening the season by going 9-12 in their first 21 games at Dodger Stadium, the Dodgers are 24-9 at home since May 17. Los Angeles is 18-9 (.667) in its 27 day games this year, the second-best mark in the Majors (San Francisco, 26-12,.684). BANGED UP: Prior to any roster moves today, the Dodgers have had 25 players on the disabled list this year, the most ever by a National League club (also: 2015 Mets) and the second most by any team in the last 30 years since 1987, behind only the 2012 Red Sox (27) Brett Anderson (herniated disc surgery) is expected to make his third rehab start on Monday for Triple-A Oklahoma City at Iowa. Anderson threw 64 pitches in his last outing on Aug. 2 with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits and striking out eight in 4.0 innings. SATURDAY SIX PACK(S): Yasmani Grandal has hit safely in his last six games since July 29, going 9-for-22 (.409) with a double, a triple, two homers and seven RBI. He has 10 homers in his last 25 games since June 30, leading the NL, while batting.329 (27-for-82) with a.439 onbase percentage, a.732 slugging percentage and 18 RBI in that span. Since June 30, he s raised his overall batting average by 49 points (from.178 to.227). Justin Turner has hit safely in his last six games, going 9-for- 24 (.375) with six doubles, a homer and five RBI since July 30, and in 47 games since June 10, he leads the NL with 15 homers and ranks second with 44 RBI, one behind the Rockies Carlos Gonzalez. Turner s.663 slugging percentage since June 10 trails only Arizona s Jake Lamb (.671). TOO GOOD: With 19 home runs, Corey Seager is tied with Hanley Ramirez (2013) for the most home runs by a shortstop in Los Angeles Dodgers history. The franchise mark is 22, set by Glenn Wright in Seager s next home run will put him in elite company as well, as he would become just the eighth rookie in franchise history to reach 20 home runs, joining Mike Piazza (35, 1993), Joc Pederson (26, 2015), Del Bissonette (25, 1928), Johnny Frederick (24, 1929), Frank Howard (23, 1960), Greg Brock (20, 1983) and Eric Karros (20, 1992). Seager is tied with Eric Karros (1992) for the Los Angeles Dodger rookie single-season doubles record with 30. The franchise rookie record is 52, set by Johnny Frederick in 148 games in Overall, he ranks among the NL s best in runs (71, T-3 rd ), hits (128, 5 th ), doubles (30, T-2 nd ) and batting average (.303, 12 th ).
