MARLIN FISHING: The Dodgers, winners of five in a row, tonight begin a season-long 10-game road trip with the first of three games with the Miami Marlins, who they have yet to beat this season. Fresh off a sweep of the Arizona Diamondbacks, Los Angeles is a season-high 19 games over.500 and leads the Giants by 5.0 games in the NL West, its largest divisional advantage of the year. Following the series with the Marlins, the Dodgers will pay visits to Yankee Stadium (3 games) and Chase Field (4), before heading back to Dodger Stadium for the final homestand of the season. The Dodgers were swept by Miami for the first time ever April and have already lost the season series with the Fish. Los Angeles is 8-5 at Marlins Park since the stadium opened in The Dodgers four-game losing streak against the Marlins is tied for their longest ever (Aug. 1, 1996-April 27, 1997). The Dodgers slugging pct. is on pace to be the highest in Los Angeles history after the All-Star break, outpacing the previous mark of.434 set in POSTSEASON FEVER: The minor league postseason got underway for three Dodger affiliates Tuesday, with Triple-A Oklahoma City hosting Nashville, Single-A Rancho Cucamonga taking on Lancaster and Single-A Great Lakes battling Bowling Green. Rookie-advanced Ogden, which clinched a playoff spot Wednesday and finished its regular-season last night, will face the Orem Owlz tonight to begin the postseason. After losing their first game of the series to Nashville, the OKC Dodgers tied the series up 1-1 with 5-2 victory last night. Logan Bawcom, who started last night s contest, tossed 6.0 scoreless frames, allowing just one run on three hits with six strikeouts. Left-fielder, O Koyea Dickson finished the night going 2-for-3, blasting his second home run of the postseason with a two-run shot to put the Dodgers up 3-1 in the third inning. The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes took the loss last night against Lancaster in a high-scoring, defeat, which evened the series, 1-1. Great Lakes started its postseason strong with a 15-1 victory in game one over Bowling Green. The Loons used four pitchers last night, combining to allow just one run on three hits with six strikeouts and did not issue a walk. In 16 starts this season, Kershaw has gone 11-2 with a 1.79 ERA (24 ER/121.0 IP) and limited the opposition to a.185/.205/.269 slashline. Prior to being placed on the disabled list, he led the Majors in WHIP (0.73), strikeouts (145), strikeout-to-walk ratio (16.11, 145 K/9 BB), innings pitched (121.0) and shutouts (3), while ranking among big league leaders in ERA (1.79, 2 nd ), wins (11, T-2 nd ), opponents batting average (.185, 5 th ) and strikeout per nine innings (10.79, 5 th ). Andre Ethier (fractured right tibia) went 13-for-41 (.290) with four doubles, a homer and four RBI in ninr rehab games with Rancho Cucamonga. Ethier is headed to Miami and could be reinstated by the Dodgers as early as tonight. SWUNG ON AND MISSED : On this date in 1965, Hall of Famer Sandy Koufax pitched the only perfect game in Dodger history as he struck out 14 in a 1-0 victory over the Chicago Cubs at Dodger Stadium.
