Baylor managed the Rockies from 1993 through the 1998 season, guiding them to three winning seasons from he was named the NL Manager of the Year in 1995 after leading the Rockies to their first playoff berth as the NL Wild Card team in their third year of existence. 2 #35 ROCKIES STARTING PITCHER CHAD BETTIS RHP Height: 6-0 Weight: 213 Age: 28 (April 26, 1989) Born: Lubbock, Texas Acquired: Selected in 2nd round of 2010 THIS ONE IS SPECIAL Will be making his first Major League start of the season after recovering from a testicular cancer diagnosis that he received last offseason underwent surgery last fall and continued treatments throughout this season. Was placed on the 60-day disabled list March 26, sent to Double-A Hartford to begin rehab July 13, and was reinstated from the 60-day DL and optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque Aug. 4. Pitched in one official Spring Training game this year, March 5 at Milwaukee, and allowed one run on one hit with two strikeouts in two innings of work. THE ROAD BACK Began his rehab stint July 13 at Double-A Hartford in six starts, five games, between Hartford and Triple-A Albuquerque, went 0-3 with a 4.24 ERA (23.1 IP, 11 ER), seven walks and 17 strikeouts. PICK IT UP The Lubbock, Texas, native went 14-8 with a 4.79 ERA (186.0 IP, 99 ER), 59 walks and 138 strikeouts in 2016 set single-season career highs in wins, starts, innings and strikeouts. Is with a 4.62 ERA (338.2 IP, 174 ER) in 60 Major League starts 1-2 with a 9.09 ERA (31.2 IP, 32 ER) in 29 relief outings. A starter since May 14, 2015 after being used primarily as a reliever in 2014 made 29 relief appearances from Sept. 11, 2013 to July 28, 2014 between starts (Sept. 9, 2013 and May 14, 2015).
