Russell s homer was his 20th of the season, making him just the second Cub to reach that mark in his age 22 season or younger he joins the legendary Ron Santo, who in 1961 hit 23 homers in his age 21 campaign. s victory was his 17th of the season, the most in the N.L. and third-most in the majors behind Boston s Rick Porcello (20) and Toronto s J.A. Happ (18). ON THE SEASON: Chicago sits 40 games over.00 and owns a 16.0-game lead in the N.L. Hendricks has allowed three or fewer earned runs in each of his 19 starts dating to May 22 (1.62 ERA), the longest streak by any big league pitcher this season he is the fourth Cubs starting pitcher in the 30 years to allow three earned runs or fewer in 19- straight starts, joining Jake (29, ), Mike Morgan (27, 1992) and Frank Castillo (23, ). Chicago s 1 interleague wins are its most in a single season, surpassing the 13 victories by the 2013 club (13-7). FLEXING HIS MUSCLES: Anthony Rizzo enters tonight s contest tied for seventh in the N.L. with 29 home runs while his 97 RBI are tied for third in the Senior Circuit. CROSSING THE PLATE AT A RAPID RATE: Kris Bryant leads the majors with 113 runs scored this season, one ahead of Josh Donaldson, and 10 ahead of the next-closest N.L. player, Colorado s Nolan Arenado (103) with 20 games to go in the season, Bryant s 113 runs scored are already the most for any Cub since Derrek Lee scored 120 runs in the 200 campaign. Bryant leads the N.L. and is second in the majors with a 7.3 WAR (Mike Trout leads with an 8.1 mark) Bryant is on pace for 42 homers, 107 RBI and 129 runs scored.
