Despite dropping to 2-3 on its seven-game Southern California road trip, Los Angeles has won six of its nine games played in July, has been victorious in 33 of its last 49 contests since May 7 and has posted a (.657) record since the beginning of June, which is the best winning percentage in the National League over that time. Following tomorrow s series finale against the Friars, the Boys in Blue will return home to face the Halos for the annual Freeway Series driven by Lexus, which will close out the first half of the season. The Dodgers have had the upper hand against the Padres this season, winning seven of 11 games. The Boys in Blue have also been successful at Petco Park in recent years, as they have posted a record since the 215 campaign, including winning four of their last five games. In his last start on Friday against the Angels, Maeda was solid, allowing one run on three hits and striking out nine against two walks over 5.2 innings as he did not factor in the decision. The push to vote for Muncy into the 89 th All-Star game in Washington, D.C has ended and now Dodger fans will have to wait until the winners are announced live on MLB Network and MLB.com at 5: p.m. PT. Muncy, 27, has played a significant role in the Dodgers turnaround, batting.272 with a.412 on-base percentage, 41 runs, 21 home runs and 39 RBI in just 69 games since making his Los Angeles debut on April 17. Entering play today, Muncy leads the National League (min. 2 PA) in OPS (1.29) and home runs per at bat (9.81, 1st ML), while ranking among the league s best in OBP (2nd), SLG (.617, 2nd) and home runs (4th). OFF TO THE NATION S CAPITAL: On Sunday, Major League Baseball announced that right-handed pitcher Kenley Jansen and outfielder Matt Kemp were named to the National League All-Star team, which will be managed by Dodger manager Dave Roberts. Jansen, who was selected via player balloting, and Kemp, who was a fan-elected starter, will both be making their third All-Star appearance. The 89th All-Star Game presented by Mastercard will be played on Tuesday, July 17 at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. at 5: p.m. PT and televised nationally on FOX. \ Jansen is currently tied for second in the NL with 24 saves, while posting a 2.34 ERA, a.189 opponents batting average and a.94 WHIP in 4 appearances to earn his third consecutive All-Star selection. Jansen has tossed scoreless relief in 24 of his last 28 games since May 3, while successfully converting 2 of 21 save opportunities during that span.
