Following these three games in Colorado, the Cubs return home for a six-game, seven-day homestand against the Cincinnati Reds (3 games starting Monday) and San Diego Padres (3 games starting next Friday). Chicago opens the season with eight of their first 11 games through April 19 at the Friendly Confines that s followed by a stretch in which 14 of 20 games are on the road from April 20-May 10. These three games against the Rockies, and the three next weekend against San Diego, represent the lone games outside of the N.L. Central division for Chicago through May 10 in all, 25 of the Cubs first 31 games are against their own division. KEEP AN EYE ON THIS STUFF: Anthony Rizzo has reached base safely in his last 16 games dating to August 23 of last season that s the longest active streak in the majors, and is tied for the longest streak of his career (done July 6-25 of last year) in fact, dating to July 6 of last year, he has reached safely in 53 of 58 games played. Starlin Castro has hit safely in his last 11 games dating to August 26 of last season that s tied for the second-longest active streak in the majors, one behind the Giants Nori Aoki s and Royals Alcides Escobar s 12-game streaks.
