MAP OF FIELD LOCATIONS LOMBARD LIGHTNING SPRING WOOD BAT TOURNAMENT MANAGER S INFORMATION Included in this package are: TEAMS ARE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION TO THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THEIR FIRST GAME: A.) TEAM ROSTER B.) CERTIFICATE OF ACCIDENT LIABILITY INSURANCE BIRTH CERTIFICATES FOR EACH PLAYER MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION IN EVENT OF A CHALLENGE FROM OPPOSING TEAMS. PLAYERS MAY BE NO OLDER THAN TEAM AGE AS OF APRIL 30. GENERAL RULES 1. 3 Game Guarantee, weather permitting U pitching distance is 54. Managers will have the option of matching the opponent s line-up size: i.e. If one team has 12 players and the other has only 10, team with 12 may elect to play only 10 players. High School substitution rules would be in effect in this case. 5. No changes may be made to the original roster after its submission to the tournament director. A maximum of 15 players on the roster. 6. Only those on the team roster plus the manager, 2 adult coaches and the scorekeeper are allowed in the dugouts or on the bench. 7. Teams must be at the playing field 1-hour prior to game time for their first game of the tournament; thereafter, game time will be forfeit time. 8. This is a Wood Bat event. One-piece wood or composite wood bats are acceptable. No metal, ceramic or wood/metal combination bats allowed. Bats will be provided in each dugout for teams to use if needed. If a tournament bat breaks, return the pieces to the tournament director after the game. If a tournament bat disappears, the team using that dugout will be required to pay $60.00 prior to their next game. 2 LOMBARD LIGHTNING SPRING WOOD BAT TOURNAMENT MANAGER S INFORMATION PITCHING RULES 1. Each pitcher is allowed 7 innings for the tournament. 2. A full calendar day s rest is required if 4 innings or more are pitched on the same day innings or less no rest is required. 4. One pitch delivered in an inning will be considered as 1 inning pitched. 5. Once removed from the mound, a pitcher may not return to pitch in the same game. 6. Pitchers may be brought into the game from the bench. 7. Those teams that must play more than three games in the tournament will be allowed 2 additional innings per pitcher for the tournament. Rest rule remains in effect. 8. Each team must record the pitchers used in each game and have the opposing manager initial the pitching record after the game. PLAYING RULES 1. Coin flip will be used to determine home team prior to the start of each game. 2. Games will be 7 innings. In event of a tie, last out of previous inning will be placed at 2 nd base to begin each half inning. The game will then continue until a winner is declared. 3. A time limit of 2 hours will be enforced, except as noted in rule If at anytime a team cannot field 9 players, the game will be forfeited run lead after 4 ½ innings with the home team ahead will be declared officially over. 6. No arguing or riding of the opposing players, coaches or umpires is permitted by anyone (including fans). Manager is responsible for the actions of his team and his team s fans before, during and after the game. 7. All batters, on deck batters, base runners and any players used to coach the bases must wear protective helmets. 8. Avoid contact rule will be enforced. If, in the umpire s opinion, the runner intentionally tried to knock out the fielder, the runner will be called out and may be ejected from the game. 9. Speed-up rule: Pinch runner is optional at any time for the catcher & pitcher, mandatory for the catcher with 2 outs. Player making the most recent out will be the courtesy runner. 10. Injured player: In the event a player must be removed from a game due to injury, his spot will be skipped in the line-up with no penalty. 11. Good sportsmanship is expected. No profanity, throwing of bats, helmets, or gloves in anger will be tolerated. Anyone using this avenue of expression will be removed from the game. 12. Umpire s decisions are final. 13. Only the team manager can question umpires ruling. 14. Official PONY baseball rules will apply with the above exceptions.
