1 Communications Department Victory Field 501 W. Maryland Street Indianapolis, IN Buffalo Bisons 25-21, 2nd IL North RHP Deck McGuire (NR) HISTORY IN THE MAKING Indy is pursuing the first three-peat IL West titles in franchise history and only the second stretch of three straight division titles in any league; (A.A), 1963 (IL South). LAST TIME OUT Brent Morel finished a triple shy of the cycle with three hits, three runs and five RBI and Casey Sadler picked up his sixth win in eight starts to lead the Tribe to a 10-6 thumping of Charlotte at BB&T BP... The trio of No. 4, 5 and 6 hitters (Matt Hague, Chris Dickerson & Morel) combined to reach safely in eight of 15 trips to the plate with nine runs, six hits, six RBI and two walks... Indianapolis concluded its eightgame road trip with 23 hits in 68 at-bats with RISP, good for a.338 average with a man on second or third. ONLY A TRIPLE MORE...L Morel s three-hit effort marked the sixth time an Indians batter has completed three of four legs of the cycle this season... Along with Morel, Nevin Ashley missed the trick by a triple (5/8 at SWB), Chase d Arnaud a double (5/12 vs. NOR), Michael Martinez a homer (4/13 vs. COL) and Gregory Polanco by both a homer (5/13 vs. PAW) and a triple (4/24 at TOL). WE MUST BE TRIPPIN Morel s round-tripper extended the Tribe s streak to a season-high five consecutive games with at least one HR... Indy has also left the yard in eight of the last nine games (9 HR) dating back to 5/16 vs. Pawtucket. THERE IS SUCH A THING AS A JINX Indians pitchers held the opposition without a homer in four consecutive games prior to Sunday s four-hr barrage... Charlotte s fireworks set an opponent season-high for most homers in one game, eclipsing the previous mark matched on the road-trip opener by GWN s three HR on May 17. THIS ROTATION IS KIND OF QUALITY Despite Sadler missing a quality start by just one earned run, Indianapolis rotation has authored a quality outing in 12 of the last 15 games (5/10: 3.20 ERA, 35er/98.1ip) and in 17 of 24 total tilts during the month of May. ONCE YOU POP, YOU CAN T STOP The Indians plated four runs during the fifth frame of yesterday s win, marking the 13th occasion in which the team has scored four or more runs in one inning... Indy has produced eight 4-run innings, two 5-run innings, two 6-run innings and one season-high, 8-run frame (5/16). Today s Tribe Starter LHP Adam Wilk Current Streak: L2 Wilk returns to the rotation for his 10th appearance (eighth start) of the season and first against Buffalo... The southpaw most recently tossed four pitches in relief to induce a game-ending double play and pick up his first save of the season on May 22 at Charlotte... Wilk has authored a quality outing in four of his eight starts, three of which were spun at Victory Field... He enters tonight with a 3.94 ERA in five home games (6.00 ERA on the road). Monday, May 26, :05 p.m. EDT Victory Field Indianapolis, IND Game #50 Home Game #20 ALL ROADS LEAD TO... HOME? The Indians capped their eight-game road trip with a victory and currently rank first in the IL and second in all of Triple-A in both road wins (17) and total road contests (30)... In addition, Indy opens the current homestand having played just 19 games at Victory Field, the fewest home games in all of Minor League Baseball. SERIES SHOWDOWN The Indians and Bisons meet today for the first game of eight total tilts between the clubs this season... Indy has won 23 of the last 32 matchups since July 27, 2009, and boasts a record against Buffalo dating back to the beginning of the 2005 season... In addition, the Tribe has won or split all nine series at Victory Field during that span (2005) with six outright wins and three series splits....it S TOO SOON Buffalo s roster features two key players from Indy s 2013 IL West title run in INF Jared Goedert and OF Brett Carroll... The pair of sluggers ranked second and third among all Indians batters in HR last season (behind Andrew Lambo), with Goedert lifting 11 HR and Carroll knocking 13 HR... The duo s stint also included Indy s first walkoff of 2013 from Goedert s RBI single on April 9 (TOL), and a Player of the Week award from Brett Carroll on April 16. CLEANING IT UP Sunday s errorless performance marked the Tribe s 22nd such game through its first 49 contests... Indy is 17-5 when playing errorless ball, but with at least one miscue. OH!C.D. Dickerson s single on Sunday gives the OF hits in each of his last 21 starts and a base knock in 21 of his last 22 games overall (since April 29)... On the season, he has hit safely in 33 of 35 starts and reached base in 34 of 35 starts. DEFINITELY, MAY BE Dickerson has 32 hits in 21 games during the month of May, and including his 10 free passes and three HBP, ranks third in all of Triple-A with his IL-best.464 OBP during the month, and fourth in Triple-A with his league-high.395 average in May. MATTY ICE Matt Hague went 2-for-4 with a walk at Charlotte to extend his on-base streak to a new IL-best 18 consecutive road games (since 4/8)... He is just 13-for-62 (.210) during the streak, but has also coaxed 14 walks for a.355 OBP... With the effort, he is 15-for-46 (.326) with a.429 OBP in his last 14 games. All-Time Manager Wins 1.
