PITCHING MATCHUP: 24-year-old RHP Brooks Hall gets the ball in game one of today s doubleheader. Hall, Biloxi s Opening Day starter makes his team-leading third start. He was the Brewers 4th round selection in 2009 and graduated from T.L. Hanna (SC) High School, where he also played basketball. RHP Trevor Williams makes his third start of 2015 in game one and has no record and a 0.75 ERA. Williams was invited to Marlins Spring Training in 2015 as a non-roster invitee. He is ranked the No. 7 prospect in the Miami organization, according to MLBPipeline.com. He was a midseason FSL All-Star in 2014 and made three starts for Jacksonville at the end of 2014 going 0-1 with a 6.00 ERA. Williams was Miami s 2nd round selection in the 2013 draft out of Arizona State. 25-year-old RHP Jacob Barnes starts the nightcap and makes his 2nd start of Barnes was effective for the Shuckers during his 4.2 innings of work, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out five on 4/16 at Mobile. He was Milwaukee s 14th round selection in 2011 out of Florida Gulf Coast. Opposite Barnes in game two will be 25-year-old LHP Chipper Smith. Smith, born in Lancaster, CA was the Marlins 38th round pick in 2012 out of Cumberland University (TN). Smith is making his third start of 2015 and has not allowed an earned run over 10.1 innings in his first two outings. Smith made 14 starts at the end of 2014 for Jacksonville and was 3-4 with a 4.27 ERA in 14 starts (65.1 IP/31 ER). SHUCKERS RECAP: The Shuckers were postponed due to rain and wet grounds on Monday night in Jacksonville. It was already the third rain postponement of the young season. 14 Manager, Carlos Subero COACHING STAFF Subero, 42, begins his second season in the Brewers organization as manager at the Double-A level. Subero led the Huntsville Stars to a record and a postseason berth last season. Prior to joining the Brewers, Subero managed five seasons in the Dodgers organization at Class-A Inland Empire (2009), Double-A Chattanooga ( ) and Class-A Rancho Cucamonga (2013). He led the Lookouts to the playoffs in 2011 after clinching the Southern League s second-half North Division title with a record after the All-Star break. Coach, Sandy Guerrero Guerrero, 48, enters his 13th season as a coach in the Brewers organization. He previously coached at Double-A Huntsville ( , 2014) and Triple-A Nashville ( ). In addition, he spent two seasons as hitting coordinator from Guerrero served as manager for the Northern Division in the 2007 Southern League All-Star Game after scheduled manager Don Money pulled out of the contest to coach in the All-Star Futures Game. Another career highlight came in July 2009 when he served as the pitcher for Brewers first baseman Prince Fielder during the MLB Home Run Derby in St. Louis. Fielder won the contest. Before coaching, Guerrero had a 19-year playing career that included stints in the minor leagues with Toronto and Milwaukee. He also played professionally in Mexico, Taiwan and the independent Northern League. The former infielder played in the Brewers farm system with Class-A Stockton ( ), Double-A El Paso ( ) and Triple-A Denver ( ). In 1998, Guerrero won a league championship in Taiwan, claiming the batting title with a.361 batting average. Guerrero s father, Epy, was a renowned Major League scout in the Dominican Republic, while his brother, Mike, is the first base coach with the Brewers. Sandy and his wife, Jessica, reside in Huntsville, Alabama. Pitching Coach, Chris Hook Hook, 46, is in his eighth season in the Brewers organization. He served as pitching coach at Double-A Huntsville each of the past three seasons. Hook originally joined the organization as pitching coach at Huntsville in 2008, and spent three seasons in the same role with Class-A Wisconsin from before returning to Huntsville ( ). This past offseason, he served as pitching coach with the Glendale Desert Dogs in the Arizona Fall League. Prior to joining the Brewers, Hook was the pitching coach for the Florence Freedom of the independent Frontier League from He also spent three seasons as the pitching coach for Northern Kentucky University from Hook was a pitcher for 11 professional seasons ( ), including two years in the Major Leagues with San Francisco from He went 5-2 with a 5.89 ERA in 55 career Major League games. Originally signed as a non-drafted free agent by Cincinnati in 1989, he also pitched in the minor leagues with San Diego, San Francisco, California and Houston. He finished his playing career in the independent Atlantic League.
