2 NOTES Scouting Davidson Davidson enters with a 9-6 record following a three-game sweep of North Alabama over the weekend. The Wildcat offense is led by Eric Jones who has a.379 average with three homers and eight runs driven in. Ma Frey sits at.292 with eight RBIs. Ruben Fontes has a team-high five homers and 15 runs driven in. Josh Hudson leads the pitching staff with a 2-1 record to go along with a 1.17 ERA and a team-high 27 strikeouts. Gabe Levy sits at a 1.72 ERA and a pair of saves. Rankings Jonathan White currently leads the confernece and ranks 24th na onally with eight hit by pitches on the season. White s next hit by pitch will move him into the top 10 in the Blue Hose D1 era single season record book. Jimmy Marcelli currently leads the Big South with 28 hits while si ng fourth with a.368 ba ng average. Marcelli has a team-high 10 mul -hit contests on the year. Nick Guimbarda sits seventh in the Big South with a.521 slugging percentage. As a team the Blue Hose pitching staff leads the league with six saves. Blue Hose pitchers have struck out 149 ba ers which ranks fourth in the league. Record Chasing Head Coach Elton Pollock is closing in on his 300th win with the Blue Hose as he needs just five more victories to achieve this milestone. Colton Springs with his next save would move solo fourth in the program s D1 record book with his seventh career save. Springs with his next save also takes sole possession of eighth in the Blue Hose career record book. With his next victory, Eric Miles would move into sole possession of second place with 16 career wins in the D1 record book. Nick Guimbarda needs one more home run to move into a e for 5th in the Blue Hose D1 Record Book for career homers. He currently has 14 career homers. Springs with two more strikeouts will move into 10th place in the D1 record book in Presbyterian history. He currently has 93 strikeouts Preseason Honors Senior pitcher Colton Springs was named to the NCBWA Preseason Stopper of the Year Watch List. He was one of 75 relief pitchers across D1 Baseball to earn this honor. Presbyterian second baseman Jonathan White highlighted a trio of Blue Hose selected to the College Baseball Daily Preseason All-Big South Team. White was joined by ou ielder Nick Guimbarda and Relief Pitcher Colton Springs on the All-Big South Team. College Baseball Daily also selected PC fi h in its preseason poll. D1 Baseball selected PC sixth in the preseason poll. The Big South Conference Coaches selected the Blue Hose seventh in the 2019 preseason coaches poll. Jonathan White also was selected to the Perfect Game Preseason All-Big South Team. Blue Hose In The Minors Bud Jeter concluded his 2018 MILB season with the Jackson Generals, the AA affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Jeter appeared in 34 games with the Generals during the 2018 campaign going 2-2 with a 2.72 ERA while also picking up a pair of saves. Jeter struck out 47 in 46.1 innings. Hayden Deal finished the 2018 season with the Rome Braves, the A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. Deal appeared in 27 games with the Braves while making five starts as he went 9-1 with a 2.17 ERA. He recorded 82 strikeouts in 78.2 innings during the season. Tanner Chock wrapped up his first year of pro ball with the Orem Owlz, the rookie ball team of the LA Angels.
