SANCHEZ CAPTURES AL ERA CROWN: Sanchez ended the 2013 season as the American League leader with a 2.57 ERA (182.0IP/52ER) to capture the ERA crown. He became the seventh pitcher in Tigers history to capture the ERA tle and the first since Jus n Verlander did so with a 2.40 ERA in JOINS FELLER WITH FIVE LOW-HIT GAMES IN FIRST 155: Sanchez fired a one-hi er in his ou ng on May 24, 2013 against the Minnesota Twins, marking the fourth one-hi er of his major league career to go along with his no-hi er on September 6, 2006 vs. Arizona. The ou ng was the 155th of his career and he joined Bob Feller as one of just two pitchers since at least 1916 to record five complete games allowing one hit-or-fewer in the first 155 games of their major league career. Feller also posted one no-hi er and four one-hi ers during that span, recording his fi h with a one-hi er in the 139th game of his career on July 12, 1940 at Shibe Park against the Philadelphia Athle cs. HISTORIC STRIKEOUT PERFORMANCE VERSUS ATLANTA: Sanchez recorded 17 strikeouts over eight shutout innings in his ou ng on April 26, 2013 against the Atlanta Braves, establishing the franchise record for strikeouts in a single game. The 17 strikeouts surpassed the previous high of 16 strikeouts accomplished by Mickey Lolich in a complete game effort on May 23, 1969, against the California Angels at Tiger Stadium. Lolich also recorded 16 strikeouts over nine innings on June 9, 1969 against the Sea le Pilots at Tiger Stadium in a game that went 10 innings. TOSSING A NO-HITTER: Sanchez fired a no-hi er during his rookie season with the Florida Marlins on September 6, 2006 vs. Arizona. Fulmer became just the third Tigers pitcher since 1913 to throw at least 7.2 shutout innings and allow three hits-or-less in one of his first six career starts. The other Tigers pitchers to do so are Pat Underwood on May 31, 1979 at Toronto and Earl Whitehill on September 29, 1923 vs. Cleveland. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Fulmer is the third Tigers pitcher in the last 50 years to earn at least four wins in his first six major league games, joining Kip Young in 1978 and Zach Miner in PILING UP THE PUNCHOUTS: Fulmer struck out 11 in his start on May 21 vs. Tampa Bay. He became just the fourth Tigers pitcher since 1913 to strike out 11-ormore ba ers in one of his first five career appearances. The other pitchers to do so include Jack Morris on July 31, 1977 at Texas, Denny McLain on September 29, 1963 at Bal more and Ralph Comstock on September 1, 1913 vs. St. Louis. MAKING HIS MAJOR LEAGUE DEBUT: Fulmer made his major league debut on April 29 at Minnesota, throwing 5.0 innings with two runs allowed on seven hits, one walk and four strikeouts. Fulmer became the 41st Tigers pitcher since 1913 to earn the win in his major league debut and the first since Kyle Ryan on August 30, 2014 at Chicago (AL). EASTERN LEAGUE PITCHER OF THE YEAR: Fulmer was named the Eastern League Pitcher of the Year in 2015 a er compiling a 10-3 record with a 2.14 ERA (117.2IP/28ER) and 116 strikeouts in 21 starts between Binghamton and Erie. He led the Eastern League with a 2.14 ERA and a.769 winning percentage, while he was fourth with a 1.10 WHIP and a.228 opponents ba ng average. Fulmer led all Eastern League starters with 8.87 strikeouts per nine innings, while he was third with baserunners per nine innings and fourth with a.228 opponent ba ng average. Fulmer was also selected to the Eastern League postseason All-Star Team. TIGERS TOP PROSPECT: Fulmer was named the top prospect in the Tigers organiza on following the 2015 season by Baseball America and MLB.com.
