It was the first complete-game shutout for LOU since RHP Dylan Axelrod s on 8/5/14 vs. ROC. In the 6 th OF Ryan LaMarre singled with one out, stole second, and scored on a single by IF Josh Satin for LOU s two hits and lone run of the game. LHP Matt Boyd started on the mound for TOL, making his Detroit Tigers organization debut. Boyd walked the bases loaded in the 1 st with two outs, but escaped on a fly ball to right field to end the inning. RHP Angel Nesbitt (L, 0-4, 6.00) entered in the 6 th and took the loss allowing 1r on 2h with 3k (0bb) in 2.0ip. MUD HENS BUSCHWHACKED: Last night, RHP Matt Buschmann (W, 2-4, 4.05) pitched a complete-game shutout and allowed just 4h with 4k (0bb). It was the first complete-game shutout since RHP Dylan Axelrod s on 8/5/14 vs. ROC. Buschmann is also the only LOU pitcher to throw a complete game of any kind this season (other was six-inning CG 7/11g1 at TOL in a 3-1 loss), and is one of 5 LOU pitchers to complete 8.0ip this season. Buschmann is also the only LOU pitcher to work 7.0ip or more without issuing a walk in a game this season. FOUR FOR FALÚ: IF Irving Falú went 0-for-2 yesterday after going 4-for-5 with 2r in Friday s. The 4h performance on Friday was Falú s third of the season and he is the only LOU player to have recorded 4h in more than one game this season. Friday s performance was also his team-leading 26 th multi-hit game of the season. Among LOU players who have appeared in 65g or more this season, Falú is the only one who has more multi-hit games (26) than 0h games (25). DUVALL BACK IN DA VILLE: Friday, CIN acquired IF Adam Duvall and RHP Keury Mella from the San Francisco Giants in exchange for RHP Mike Leake. Duvall, 26, was selected by SF in the 11 th round of the June 2010 first-year player draft and has been assigned to LOU. He grew up in Louisville, where he attended Butler High School, and then played at Western Kentucky University, Chipola Junior College in Florida and the University of Louisville. This season, Duvall hit.279 with 25 2b, 26hr and 79rbi in 99g for Triple-A Sacramento. Entering Thursday's games, he led the PCL in HR (26) and total bases (218) while ranking among the league leaders in RBI (2 nd ) and extra-base hits (53, 2 nd ). Duvall was a PCL Player of the Week in April and a mid-season PCL All-Star. Duvall s first career Major League hit was a home run off Leake on June 26, Mella, 21, was signed by SF as a non-drafted free agent in September In his four-season professional career, in 57 career minor league starts and 1 relief appearance, he is with a 3.01era and 282k in 272.1ip. In 16 starts this season at high Class A San Jose, Mella went 5-3 and ranked 4 th in the California League with a 3.31era at the time of the trade. He was a Cal League mid-season All-Star, was selected to play in this summer's SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game at Great American Ball Park and was ranked by MLB.com's MLB Pipeline as the top prospect in the Giants' organization at the time of the trade. He has reported to Daytona. TRANSACTIONS: Yesterday, LHP Tony Cingrani was placed on the 7-day DL with a right shoulder strain (retro to 7/30). Friday, OF Kyle Waldrop was recalled by CIN. Waldrop batted.202 (21-for-104) with 2 2b, 4bb, 3r and 4rbi in 46g with LOU this season. Waldrop has yet to appear for CIN and his first appearance with CIN will be his MLB debut. Also Friday, IF Kristopher Negrón was activated from the 7-day DL.
