Jeremy Guthrie (2-5, 7.50 ERA) vs. Alex Sanabia (0-1, 20.65) *All game times are Mountain Time Outfielder Alex Dickerson extended his franchise record hitting streak to 23 games on Wednesday to match the longest streak in Minor League Baseball for It is the longest streak in the Pacific Coast League this season & is the longest hitting streak in the PCL since Chris Owings had a 23-game stretch in 2013 with the Reno Aces. Dickerson is hitting.457 over his last 23 games with 5 home runs, 21 RBIs, & 13 multi-hit games. His.421 overall batting average would lead the PCL, but he falls just shy of the 2.7 plate appearances per team games required (2.6 PA) to be a league leader. After big offensive production on Wednesday, James Loney (.340) & Carlos Asuaje (.331) stand 7th & 8th in the Pacific Coast League in hitting. Asuaje s 4 hits yesterday boosted him to the 4th highest total in hits while Loney remains the toughest strikeout among PCL hitters. The Chihuahuas lead the PCL in on-base percentage at.365 despite having the fewest base-on-balls in the league (106 walks). El Paso is not the only San Diego Padres affiliate that is last in their league in walks. Double-A San Antonio is last in the Texas League & High-A Lake Elsinore has the fewest walks among teams in the California League. Despite the offensive juggernaut that El Paso has been in 2016, they are the worst pitching team in baseball with a team ERA of The win for Carlos Pimentel on Wednesday snaps a week-long drought in which El Paso starting pitchers did not get a winning decision. The Chihuahuas pitching staff has held the opposition off the scoreboard in the first inning in consecutive games for the first time since May against New Orleans. They have not gone 3 straight games without a 1st inning run this season. El Paso starters have surrendered a run in the 1st inning in 26 of 45 games & have trailed after 1 inning on 19 occasions. El Paso s bullpen turned in scoreless relief on Wednesday. The last time the Chihuahuas bullpen had backto-back scoreless games using at least 2 relievers was April
