2 Who are the Connecticut Tigers? The Connecticut Tigers are the Class-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and are the newest franchise in the NY-Penn League. The Connecticut Tigers play their home games at beautiful Dodd Stadium located in Norwich, Connecticut, the rose city of New England. The City of Norwich is located in New London County, situated in the scenic foothills of Southeastern Connecticut and boasts a county population of 260,000. New London County is home to the Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Casinos, the two largest casinos in the world. History and tourism also have strong ties to the county as it includes the historic cities of New London, Mystic, and Groton. Norwich also sits halfway between New York City and Boston, so taking in a Tigers game in Southeastern Connecticut is only a short drive away.
