1 Hello Pitchers, Parents and Coaches! Hope you enjoyed your summer! I ve really enjoyed all the updates and pictures that many of you sent me, and the opportunity to watch several of you compete this summer. It s great to see all your hard work paying off! I m really excited to get the Pitcher s Training Programs started in all my locations throughout Iowa and in middle Tennessee! I look forward to working with many of you again and with several of you for the first time this year. I have many new things planned for this year s lesson program that will challenge you and push you to be the best you can be! Below is the application for this year s training program. Please print out the entire application packet and read the instructions before completing the application. Once you complete the application, MAIL it and your deposit to the address listed. The application deadline is SEPTEMBER 16 th, If you get your application in by that date, I will do all that I can to find a class for you. Make sure to include a cell phone & address that you check on a regular basis, as this is how I will be notifying you of class time. I anticipate that some of the sites will have a waiting list, so return your application as soon as possible. If you have the flexibility to attend a different site if your first choice of location is full, please indicate that on the application. Should your first choice of location fill up, you will be immediately considered for the other location in the order your application was received. This year I will be teaching in Murfreesboro, TN on Sundays; Fort Dodge, IA on Mondays; Grinnell, IA on Tuesdays; Ames, IA on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays; Des Moines, IA on Saturdays* and Williamsburg, IA on Sundays* (*Two Saturday dates in Williamsburg & two Sunday dates in Des Moines scheduled due to facility conflict, see exact lesson dates at the end of this packet). A portion of the training program consists of classroom sessions and there will be NO pitching during these classes. These sessions will focus on some of the mental aspects of pitching: goal setting, pitcher/catcher communication, pitching with confidence, establishing routines during practice and competition, dealing with adversity, hitter weaknesses, pitch calling, etc. This is the best format to cover this type of information with you so that we are able to devote enough time to these very important areas of your game. If you are taking lessons in the Tennessee location, these classroom sessions will be incorporated into a portion of one of your 2-hour scheduled lessons. Iowa pitchers will sign-up to attend their classroom sessions outside of their regular lesson time on a date/location that best fits their schedule. A list of all lesson dates/locations can be found on the last page of this packet. If you have questions about what is covered in lessons, make sure to read the information on the training opportunities and FAQ pages of my website. This will explain the format of lessons and answer some of the questions you may have about the program. All pitchers will receive an equipment bag at the first lesson with an indoor ball, a jump rope and some other items that will be used during workouts. The only required equipment you will need to purchase for lessons is a Spin Right Spinner and a set of Arm-Pro Bands (green or red). 2 Application Instructions and Guidelines BreakThrew Fastpitch Pitcher s Training Program In order to make the scheduling process more efficient and effective, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES CAREFULLY BEFORE FILLING OUT YOUR APPLICATION. All payment information on the application must be completely filled out and signed before submitting the application. Applications that are incomplete and/or filled out incorrectly will NOT be considered. All applications must be completed, along with a $125 deposit, and received by September 16, Every attempt will be made to accommodate all pitchers with applications received by this deadline. Applications received after September 16, 2016 will be accepted ONLY if there are class times still available! Make checks payable to: BreakThrew Fastpitch and return your application and deposit to: PO Box , Murfreesboro, TN Please be as open as possible with your requests for class times. This allows the pitcher to be placed in a class that is most appropriate for her. Please DO NOT call for class times! You will be notified by text or regarding your class time at least 1 week prior to your first class. If you are planning to carpool with other pitchers, please list all pitchers you are coming with at the top of the application somewhere and I will do the best I can to schedule you all in class together or back to back. All pitchers will need to bring their own catchers. Team catchers are the best option for this and STRONGLY recommended, however, catchers can be parents or teammates if necessary. Any non-adult catcher MUST bring a mask to wear and must sign a release form. Your deposit will be retained in the event a pitcher is given a class time, the class time is accepted, and the pitcher fails to attend. Any pitcher who does not get an assigned class will receive a complete refund. All pitchers must have the following equipment to bring to each class: 1. A 1 or ring presentation binder with a clear pocket on the front and back covers. This will be used as a practice log. 2. An indoor softball (you will get this at your first lesson) 3.
